It is not unusual for my lovely bride to say upon receiving a gift from me, "you should not have spent that much on me." So it is especially gratifying to hear her say something a few days later like, "I really love this jacket!"

I know Randy tends to overspend on gifts for me and yet when I get him a lot of things he tells me that I bought him too much. I think it is great that you got your wife a jacket that she wanted and probably needs.

Yea, someone understands! She saw the jacket in Columbia Sportswear and liked it because it was designed to retain body heat.

Maybe she just wants something, but she doesn't want you to spend too much money on it. You can give her a surprise by buying the items she loves.

She is so generous when giving gifts, it is a bit ironic that she doesn't like to spend money on herself. She was very happy when I told her what a good deal I got on the jacket she wanted. It was marked down very significantly! Of course, she is worth the full price, but she loves getting a bargain.
