Joy of Karaoke and Strange Patterns

I tried Karaoke for the first time at my girlfriend's birthday. It was amazing. Of course, I failed miserably with the first few songs, but then I improved and started singing much better the same evening. Strange enough, I love rock-music, heavy metal an such, but I sang those songs in the ugliest possible way. I listened to them for many years of my life, but it seemed that I didn't know them at all. And I can't stand rap and hip-hop, but my singing was very good with that - perhaps, because those styles are more like reading the text to the beats, rather than singing. Then, I also did my best with the old songs, such as the "Grease" theme - whatever it was, "Summer Nights," I guess... So, it turned out that even though I am a fan of rock-music, but my singing in that style is atrocious, and, vice versa, I was REALLY good with the despised (by me) rap, hip-hop and old-fashioned songs...

Amazing. I also love all of these pop songs but at karaoke singing I notice that I sing the songs of the Platters very well. I don't even like their songs but when I sing them, I sing them with passion, I wonder why.
