Do you have blessings to count?

I am thankful - not because the year has almost ended, but because my blessings this year were more than my disappointments. I lost my job, but my sons found great jobs; we had a painful divorce in the family, but also a happy engagement; my brother and friend died, but there was also a baby added to the family. Tonight we will get together to have Holy Communion to be reminded about His goodness to us. We will celebrate life and be happy.

Hello dee777,
Very thought provoking discussion! Thank you.
This year I aim to discover and count the smallest blessings that God has endowed me with.
I shall also pray for MENTAL PEACE alone and try to be an instrument to His will.

I think that we all have blessings we can count. We just have to take time to think about them and remind ourselves of them. We often do the opposite and think of mainly the bad things we experience. I'm happy that I'm alive and that I have my family, even though we have had a hard time financially this year, I'm thankful that we have a roof over our head and food to eat.

Thanks. I hope that you and your family have a good year as well. It is so true that so many people do not have the basic necessities of life. That is why it is so sad to see so many people unhappy because they can't buy a lot of the luxurious of life. When we are able to take care of our families necessities we should be very happy about this. People across the world are having a hard time doing just that and that is when it is understandably easy to get discouraged and depressed, not because we can't buy that brand new car that we really don't need.
I know a couple who do missionary work in different countries and they talked about how surprised people in other countries were about how cars get treated that "many individuals have "HOMES" for their cars is how the local people put it, when others don't have a home for themselves and their family. I never really thought about it. But it is true. We do have homes for our cars in many countries.

I could (have blessings to count) if I wanted to. I think the point of the instruction to "count your blessings" is to get you thinking right.
The first thing that usually comes to my mind is my brain-injury. You'd think I think of that as a "curse"--and yes, it FELT like one; something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy--but (now that I'm sorta past it) it's a blessing, largely because it keeps me 'out of the rat races.'

It is great to count our Blessings even in hard times. My husband had a bad injury at work, but out of that my kids got their first vacation and we bought our first ever mini van when I have always wanted!
My husband has been out of work for a while now and we are struggling but at least we have gotten some quality time together out of it.
We don't really live in a nice house or neighborhood but I am grateful we have a roof over our head, not like a few years ago when we were homeless...
We do have plenty to be grateful for, plenty of Blessings. Thanks for sharing this so I could feel better about our situation.

My friend, it just proved again how much God cares for us all. My prayer to you and your family this year is that you will not look at circumstances around you, but experience His Love and Grace for you and your family. May God be gracious in providing your husband a very good work soon. Much love.

if we count the blessing we had, we will always be reminded of how much the blessing God has given to us. That's a good attitude to have since it will make us to be grateful. Even though there are problems and troubles but of course there are blessing too. So always be grateful and thankful to God.

Yes, I do have a lot of blessings to count, and to be thankful for. Just a few more hours and its already 2013... :D Oh well... i guess time does fly so fast i feel as if i am not even used to writing 2012 and its now already going to be 2013.
i have the following to be thankful for:
My life, in general - it has been happier, i have had so much heartaches early part of this year but it all was overcome by friendships, by good company, and new love.
I have my steady and basically new job to be thankful for ( God gave me a wonderful blessing to have allowed me to be a regular employee where i was working for)
i have a new love life that i am thankful for, and i am hoping for God to bless our relationships more and help us love each other.
I have my family to be thankful for, that we are still together, and our family is growing.
I have my blessings God given, career, additional income, unexpected money... I am thankful that God blessed me this time that I needed the money more.
I thank God for my health and for the people I love's health too.
I thank God for the material things he has blessed me as well. my phones, my laptop, my new exercise equipment, my computer, my shoes, the clothes i have, i am thankful for all of these.

There are so many blessings happen to you. Your situation has bad and good. Bad situations came to you, but still, there is still good that would happen to you. Its like a wheel. Some will go up and some will go down so that, there will be balance.

Hi dee!
Year 2012 is the most challenging year for me. But overcoming these challenges was such a blessing for me. I also consider this year as the greatest year because of a lot of beautiful things that happened both in my offline and online career.
The blessings are overflowing and I am really thankful for all of these.
Happy New Year!
