Drying the phone after being wet is really a must. My sister did that and her phone is still working.

I don't bring my cellphone inside the toilet because I've heard horrible stories like this. My phone cost an arm and a leg, I will go nuts if same thing happens to me. Try putting in a new battery maybe it will work.

I have lost something and I was upset and that was because I had saved up for it. And when others said it did not matter, well since those others could make money quicker, it did not make me feel that much good. That was years ago and I forget what exactly it was, but it is morning and my brain is not at it's best. I think your sister may be able to get the phone replaced. If she still have the originals and contract she can take it down to her provider and they will give her a new one. The thing is that there might be something in the contract that states they will not replace it after so many months or if something happens to it like it being in the toilet bowl. But I doubt that would be the case.

I am sorry to hear about your sister's phone. :( I suggest that you remove the batteries of the cell phone and hopefully it will get dried. Try drying it using a hair blower if you have one. Something similar happened to my phone some years back. I removed the battery after it was dropped in a pail of water. It was okay after two weeks without bringing it to a cellphone technician. Anyway, I wish you a Happy New Year ahead

Sorry to hear that. Here is an idea. Put it in a bowl with uncooked rice for a day. The rice drains the water and moisture out of the phone. I saw this on tv, some people say it does work. Doesnt hurt to try it. Happy new years day to you there.

It suggests that in the new year, the old things should be thrown away.I am just kidding.I really know what feels like if I lost my dearest thing. My husband bought me a new phone for my 23 rd birthday, unfortunately,it was stolen while I was tooking a bath in the public bathroom just 3 months after.I was so sad,but I could do nothing to take it back instead of buying a new one.

I have never had my phone sink in the toilet bowl. :D hehe but i had my phone all soaking wet in a rain. It did not open but i had to wait overnight to have it opened.. and i made sure that the phone is very dry and i even had it blown in the blow drier. :D It did open after 2 days, at least and it sure had some flaws already. the screen was okay but i still have some issues found in the buttons and it will have to be repeatedly pressed. :D hehe

I have3 never encountered that problem, as when I go the bathroom, I leave my phone sitting on the computer stand. if I do take it, I put it in my pocket, so that it won't fall into the toilet, or i put it on the floor. My phone is way to expensive to let that happen. It is like the others said, you can put it in a b owl of rice and leave iot there until it is completely dry. It should work afterwards, with no problems. Make sure you take the battery out first, and don't turn it on while it is wet. Let it dry out completely first. I am sortry to hear that yoru sister dropped her phone in the toilet, and I hope that the rice will do the trick. Take carfe, and have a great New year.

When something like this happens, take out the battery, and put the phone and the battery in a big bowl of rice for at least 24 hours. The rice has the best property to pull the humidity out.Good luck!

I dropped by one of my older phones in the toilet by accident one time, and I was scared straight. I took the battery out, and let it try for sometime. It took about a day or so, but my touchscreen started back working again. The phone held up for awhile, but eventually I think all of the various time dropping it etc took it down. I've since gotten another phone. Anyway, I can relate to what your sister is feeling. I hope that her phone starts back working, or she is able to get a replace phone soon. Good luck!

I have heard of a lot of phones being dropped into water and being rendered useless. I also heard that if you take the phone apart and put it in a jar of rice for 24 to 48 hours that the rice will draw out the moisture and the phone might work. It is important that you don't attempt to use the phone before drying it out because I've heard that is what destroys the circuits. Good luck to you!

Oh, that's sad. Never try to turn it on while it is still moist. Remove the battery and leave it to dry first and try putting the phone inside a jar full of rice. The rice will aid in absorbing the moisture from the phone. And have a technician check it out later. Hopefully it would still work ^_^

Yes, I did not also believe that it would work when I first encountered such in an internet blog a long time ago. But I tried it when my USB Broadband Stick was soaked wet from the rain, since I forgot to remove it from hanging outside my window. It did not work and started to make bubbly sounds when I tried to plug it in, then I just dried it up using some tissue paper and placed it in a plastic cup full of rice. When I woke up the following day, I was surprised to see that some of the rice grains grew a bit fatter and when I tried using my USB stick, the bubbling sound was gone and it worked perfectly well. ^_^
