Sleeping with noise

Seeing as a live with 6 other people, I always have a radio on. I id this especially when I was on nights. It is never quiet and they wouldn't consider those working other shifts. They would actually make more noise purposely. Now that I am back to the regular routine, I still have the music on again I go to bed different times as them, my brother is up until 3am playing drums, guitar, or video games. You can stand down the driveway and hear his crap going. Now when I am petsitting it is completely silent, I do get a better sleep. My friend had called and her son moved back in causing all this noise at night time, even having s*x with his girlfriend (which I find is extremely rude). I told her put some music on or the tv. She thought I was nuts, but she tried it last night, and told me she will have to get use to it.

That is why I have the fan on. Even in the winter I have the fan on to combat the noise of the house. I have to have it as silent as possible. The fan doesn't bother me. Now when I am reading I either turn on the fan or turn on the radio, but usually I turn on the radio. That way I wont' get distracted.

The computer I use is in a room where people are constantly coming in and out. My room, I can close my door if I need to and I do. The room is right beside my grandmother's, her t.v. is close to the closet wall of her room so it amplifies it seems. I know if I don't want be bothered, like when I'm cleaning or reading, I'll tell them I am sleeping so they won't bother me.

I syap stunningly quiet and that makes me sleep much better quality. although I can not sleep in very loud music and even when people around me talk does not bother me. but we are all different. so the best solution or to get others to keep quiet and deal with it. nice day!

I can sleep with any noise pretty much. My parents made us that way because they would let everyone come over while we were sleeping even as babies and let people be as loud as they wanted so we would get used to it. In life you encounter different things and you might not always get silence while sleeping. Now noise does not affect me while sleeping and I'm glad! Lol. The only thing I wake up to is my children, when I hear them its like an alarm going off in my head...

My parents did the samething, which is why I could sleep during the day with all the neighbours, but it was more getting to sleep. I could sleep through a bomb going off beside me, I did nights for 8 years people use to run in scremaing their heads trying to wake me up didn't even move. I find as I get older (yep I said it), it get's harder. I do have a radio on, but again with this loud thumping over my head listening to drums is just irritating and gives you a headache.

I also sleep sometimes in noise because I am used to it , I can even fall asleep in a crowded place with music if I try . I also sleep without noise but I like the tv one when I am alone . I sleep with some sound when I am alone and the house is feeling kind of creepy. She will have to put music on are ask her son to move out .

Six? I seem to have missed someone there--mother, father, sister, brother... At any rate, I go to sleep in near silence in here. Well, if one of the cats has decided not to join us, I might hear the "mighty hunter/huntress" cries from another room as a milk jug ring, bunny or squid is paraded about. I also might get a tad bit of noise from the neighbors, since the walls are a tad too thin at times. Your friend needs to toss her son out the door. It's her home, and she needs to reclaim it.

I can deal with a very small amount of ambient noise when I am trying to sleep. However, I've never been one of the kind of people that is able to sleep while I have the television or radio on in the room where I am trying to sleep. This has always been something that has been a big problem for me. I wasn't even able to sleep when I lived in the dorm until all of my roommates were asleep because of the fact that I just don't deal with the noise very well while I am sleeping. Now my husband, on the other hand, is literally able to sleep through anything.

It really is tough for me to sleep when there is noise going on around me. I will just have to cover my ears with something to just drown out the noise. There have been times when the noise would get to me and I wouldn't be able to sleep and just have some kind of insomnia for a while. It really is important for people to have a daily sleep routine and that they stick to it.

I am a lit sleeper so if there are some noise I could easily wake up and having a hard time getting back to sleep. Yes living near somebody not your relative is pretty annoying specially if they are so insensitive, grrrrr to the highest level.

And whenever i woke my head will be full of noise/sound which i hate. But i love playing music in a low volume it always cools me down.

I like to have the TV on as much as possible. Even if I am busy, somehow the news or the songs keep company with me. When I have some free time, I do look up at the videos/pictures too.

I sleep so much better with a fan on. It blocks out all kinds of snoring that goes on in this house. Very often I have the tv on also but learned to lower the volume since commercials get loud and tend to wake me. I also make sure it's dark in the bedroom because light keeps me awake. I agree with you where you mention your friend's son is having s*x in the house when his mom is home. Seems to be disrespectful. Happy New Year.

Why not try a fan or air cleaner? It's more of a steady sound. It's great for drowning out unwanted noises. My husband got me into the fan thing years ago, back when we first got together. At first I thought he was nuts! I never used a fan before this, after all. LOL But the more I used it, the more I became accustomed to it. Now I can't sleep without one! I just thought I'd throw the idea out there as I can totally relate. I've had a few noisy neighbors as well as some family. And even though I live in the country I deal with all sorts of noise. Using an air cleaner has really helped a lot! Happy 2013!

Well, unfortunately these are the classic problems that are encountered when you live in a house with other people. Now I for example live in my family home with father, mother and my younger brother. Fortunately, at least the sleep is something I can do alone, but living everyday regarding our family relationships, unfortunately, is not the best! There is to argue and quarrel for what even small thing. My father often said that the best solution for us would be able to live in four separate apartments, but in the light of the facts, for us this is currently only a utopia!
