Typing Without Even Typing

I've been using my Android phone quite vigorously and I found out about this app. It's called Swift Key Flow. It's really cool, all you need is to swipe your finger through the virtual keypad and it will type the words for you based on some algorithms, I guess. Don't believe me? Click the link below and see what I mean. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=kA5Horw_SOE&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DkA5Horw_SOE I'm actually using it right now. It's pretty cool. I suggest you try it, too.

I have heard about it before and it really seems interesting to me. I would really like to have a go at it, but I really don't think it could enable me to type faster as when I am use both hands to type. As soon as I start to use one hand i believe some type of slowing down will start to occur. What do you think about that, when you compare it to normal techniques relating to speed. I have also heard about swype, when I just saw your post i thought you were actually referring to swype but with a little research, it turns out that they are rivals, swype and swift key flow. I think swype was out before swift key though. WOndering which one is better?

I've also heard of Swype before but I've never really tried it. Yeah, the app sounds the same as SwiftKey but I'm not sure what it's distinction from SwiftKey Flow. I'll take a look at it and maybe I'll see the difference between the two.

I was using that on my phone for awhile. It came with my phone though, it's not an app. I have like 3 different types of ways to do texting on my phone. It is pretty cool how it works, the way it most of the time knows what word you meant just by swiping through a few letters. But I found sometimes it took me longer because it would pick the wrong word or put in the wrong word when more then one choice came up.

I think it has something to do with how small your virtual keyboard is. Right now I'm using my left thumb to swipe all of these words down. My phone is an LG L3 E405, and I also set the virtual keyboard to small so I don't have to swipe all the way through the height of the screen just to jot a word down. It's really economical for me. Don't get me wrong, though, I also like how SwiftKey programmed their keyboard's prediction. I also type using it and most of the time, *I mean most of the time*, it gets what I wanted to type in.

A lot of people are annoyed with the feature. I find it very useful and amusing. Maybe there will be a time, though, when I'll also turn it off, but not now. I'm still enjoying it.

i believe there is another feature exclusive to android devices known as voice typing where you can just say what you want and then the phone will interpret it for you on the screen. that is also worth checking out as it saves the trouble of using the very small screen and trying to type as accurately as possible.

Yes I've heard of that. It's already pre-installed when I bought the phone, although I don't use it that much, only when I have to search on the Internet.

It’s quite similar to Samsung’s Swipe keyboard option wherein you don’t need to have hassle on typing in your cellphone keyboard but just in a simple swipe you can add text in an instant. However, I still prefer to be traditional and settle to the common QWERTY keyboard typing option.

Yeah it is. Although, I find Samsung's keyboard a bit glitchy. It stops for a while as you swipe, and gets you to type in different words.

True, they are not that responsive as well. but none the less, i settle for the traditional QWERTY keyboard hehe.

huh, pretty cool app. Although I imagine it leads to numerous typos. Over time however, as it goes with technology, I bet they could work out the kinks and it would be great and fully effective and efficient.

Yes it does. It's still in beta testing and I'm sure they're working hard to improve the app. As for now I'm just playing around with it, seeing how far I can go with its capabilities.

That is so amazing! I shared the video to my friends. I only know a few in my circle who have a Samsung smartphone though.

The app is not limited to Samsung phones only. You should tell your friends to go to SwiftKey's website so that they'll be informed about the app.

Hiya FV., Cannot get the video to play but that is a really great app and especially for people that have problems typing say on ordinary keyboards maybe they have hand injury or carpal tunnel syndrome this sounds fantastic for some conditions similar to that. I had not heard of this one till you told us so thank you very much the name has stuck in my head so I will look it up again when I can. This has surely got to be a very popular app with anyone.xxx

It's really fun once you get used to swiping. It's like you're just doodling around but you're actually typing something. I actually got myself a new keyboard. It's called "TouchPal". It's also pretty good. I kinda wanna uninstall Swift Key since it crashes most of the time when I'm using Opera Mobile. I think it uses a lot of RAM. I'll stick to this one for now and see how good it is.
