Nerds are you one?

Well I've always thought of myself as a nerd, but I'm a very different breed of nerd than you. I don't care much for science fiction, and I traded my glasses for contacts when I was 14 but I'm a super bookworm with a love for high fantasy. I'm the type of person who makes a renaissance dress and goes to a faire, and then prances around like I'm made of magic.

Yes, I am a nerd and proud of it. Although I was teased a lot as a child for being a nerd, I have learned to accept who I am. I enjoy reading novels and watching series that relates to sci-fi/fantasy. For example, I love watching Doctor Who and have watched all the Star Wars films. In addition to sci-fi/fantasy, I enjoy shows that exemplify nerd culture such as The Big Bang Theory. When I am not busy working, I enjoy going on the Web to look about information about technological topics such as robotics, video games, and social media. Aside from sci-fi/fantasy, I would say I am an even a bigger fan of Japanese pop culture. Basically, I also enjoy anime, manga, cosplay, J-rock music, and J-RPG games. Nowadays, if someone calls me a 'nerd', I take that as a compliment.

Probably I am. I play video games every day, from rpg's to NES classic games. I play magic the gathering and dungeons and dragons, I read Tolkien. I love the star wars universe, the middle earth, conan the barbarian, etc. I love to compose fantasy inspired music. And on the top of that all, I hate talking about stuff most of my people around me talk aabout all the time. eg. fashion, crappy "modern" music, etc.
