Asked for money not a job

I recently graduated from college and had difficulty finding a job right away. I went to the career fair and applied to a couple jobs at City of Hope. I never got contacted to do an interview with them. However, they did add me their email list. What I despised was that this email list was not for people who wanted job opportunities, but a way of eliciting charitable donations. I wanted a job and instead they asked me for money on a near daily basis. Has this sort of thing happened to you? What did it make you feel like doing?
