Have you ever read any of the books in the "Dead Until Dark" series by Charlaine Harris? There are ten books in the series, so far. I've actually read the first 5 books about 6 years ago, and I've recently heard that it now has its own TV series, TrueBlood. So I actually started picking up on reading the series from the first book again, and I'm currently on the sixth book. It's a pretty interesting series that centers on a small-town barmaid named Sookie Stackhouse and how her life becomes involved in the supernatural world of vampires, werewolves, fairies, etc. I've been especially interested in her love affair with Bill, the first vampire she met and continues to have some involvement with even after (spoiler) they break up. I've heard this series compared to the "Twilight" series, but I have to say that the "Dead Until Dark" series is much more fascinating. And if anything, "Twilight" is kind of a copycat but milder version of "Dead Until Dark." If you've read both or just one of these series, what do you think about either? What interested you the most?

The series is Brilliant, I have them all as ebooks but I've yet to start. I've read excerpts and they are marvelous. Twilight should not be compared to it. I've read twilight and the themes might have some similarities but there is an adult entity present in true blood that is lacking in Twilight. Sure they are immortals, but they are immortals suited for teenage fans.

I didn't know True Blood was a book! I have read Twilight before but I didn't really loved or hated it. I feel quite neutral about the story line and the development of the characters. I'm interested in True Blood though. How many books are there at the moment, and how much do you think it would cost each?
