I watch a reality tv program called Wife Swap. Two wives swap lives for 2 weeks living with another family and having to spend one week the way they live and the 2nd week the way they live. I just watched it and one family was preparing for Dec. 21,2012 (older program obviously)and the other family had 2 kids and spent all their money on the daughter they say is going to be a pro golfer and the father spends all his time with her on the golf course. The mother works 6 jobs to afford that. They have a younger son who likes basketball and nobody goes to his games and he has no relationship with the father. Would you swap your life and family to live with another one for 2 weeks? Would you mind living someone else's life?

I think I can't afford doing it. Can't imagine myself sharing my bed with a complete stranger. I have to ask you, do they sleep together in one bed? What if they will the do the thing that a married couple do? Is it allowed in the program?

I've watched this program and they do not sleep together. She has her own separate bedroom. It's not the intention of the show. The intention is to show how other people live and what their lives are like in comparison to yours.

kashmere is right....no they don't sleep together and she has her own room. I don't know how it works but the new wife will work at the other wives job. I guess that's so they still get paid.

I have to say I am hooked on this show and I honestly dont know why LOL. Some of these espiosdes I've seen oh my gosh well I best to keep quiet lol. NO I don't think there is no way I could do anything like that. For one the thought of another woman being around my kids and especially my husband would just drive me insane. I don't how someone could do something like this it's amazing what people will do for money but the funny thing is they dont get to decide how to spend the money. Im a more frugal type of person and knowing my luck I'd get someone spending my money on stupid stuff. lol.

At the end of the two weeks each couple gets 10,000 but the others choose how that family will spend the money. I don't care how much money it is I seriously don't think I could do something like that. But it's fun to watch though especially some of the crazyness.

Seems they will do reality programs about anything nowadays! And to upset the sacredness of marriage, I suppose some people would be into it, after all there are swingers groups, I guess it depends on the couple, some are pretty broad minded and open for this. I certainly wouldn't want to do it, call me old fashioned but I believe in the true meaning of marriage and not swapping my other half for someone else to amuse audiences all over the world. But then they also say variety is the spice of life!

I just jumped to the conclusion and wrongly assumed, as for the family who lived in a rv, best to draw a veil over that one I think!

Don't get me wrong...they don't sleep with each other...the women have their own rooms. Except the family who lived in a rv...I have no idea where she slept!

There is no way I would ever do this, EVER! I like my life just the way it is. I will not have anyone coming into my home telling me how to run my life. What is right for someone else is right for them and what is right for me is right for me. I would not even feel comfortable going to someone else's home and telling them they are not parenting their children the right way or they should be treating their spouse with more respect. It's just not who I am. That's crazy though about the Mom working six jobs, just so the Dad can golf. Wow! She must love him or she must be sleeping.

I have to say the majority of these families are really nuts. I'm so surprised that people live the way some do. The whole idea is to help families change their crazy ways. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Sometimes things don't work and sometimes things do work. I believe it's all a matter of how willing someone is to see anther person's viewpoint.

There are a lot of families on the show that if I were them I wouldn't want the world to see the way they live. I find it unbelievable!

no, as bad as my life is I wouldn't want to do it. Since I live alone it wouldn't even be an option for the show. I don't know where they dig up these families and am shocked at the way some people live.

I'm honestly shocked too! I have seen some doozies and wondered where they dig up some of these families! I saw one that had teenage kids who were very rude and awful, skipped school if they didn't want to go, they had pets that just crapped all over the house and nobody cleaned it up, no rules, no boundaries, no nothing, and this wife traded places with a wife who had young children, worked, cleaned obsessively, kids were in all these scheduled activities and were allowed to miss no school, etc. It was extremely awkward to watch the first week - the control freak wife about tossed her cookies and puked when she saw the animals and the condition of the house and the laid back wife almost had a nervous breakdown when she discovered she was going to be expected to go to a job for 8+ hours a day and schlep kids to 4 different activities and then spend 3 hours cleaning and get up at 5 AM to spend another 2 hours cleaning. Actually, I would have begged off the show I think lol.

I've watched these programs...there are 2 that I know of but I don't have cable anymore so I can't see them. I really thought they were funny and was shocked at some of the ways people actually live..yikes! I get a kick out of them though and yes, I'd do it if I was younger because the money is good.

You could probably watch the series online though I've never checked. Last night was a hippie family and a football crazy family. The wife from the hippie family hasn't shaved her armpits in 20 years!

I've watched the show and it's amusing to watch but I would never DO it. I like my life and it would not be enjoyable to swap with someone else. I would probably be 'lucky' enough to end up swapping places with someone who was allergic to working out, didn't like kids, had a career they were in love with, etc. I think that might cause ME to suffer a heart attack. THAT person would not enjoy MY life - I run 20-50 miles a week, go to jazz and zumba, take care of kids, and have zero interest in a 60 hour a week career.

The only fun part would be forcing the other family to live like YOUR family lives and then deciding how to allocate the money you receive for the family the way YOU see fit lol. Sadly, you would have to really be concerned about how the other wife would choose to distribute the money to YOUR family if their priorities are MUCH different than yours.

hi, oh that is really cool and funny but to those couple will not be,for me i don't want to have a swap new family to my real family because i have a good and lovable family so i will not allowed it to happen in my life, but in partner of course i will not also like that especially when i really love my partner.

I know the show but I dont watch it. I wouldn't do this if the payment is not very good. I mean, we need money of course and it will be a big help, of course I'd definitely miss my own family but it's only 2 weeks and not forever.

I think the question here is about motive. I think it would be interesting to experience the life of another because sometimes we can't understand something until we've experienced it ourselves. And in some ways, this could be entry to perspective and a great learning experience about a different lifestyle which could leave to progression and evolving. But I would never do it because I am somehow unsatisfied in my life and want to get away and trade for a few weeks.
