So what was the longest time you been single?

This question come about when i was reading this Chic lit book titled "A single girls to do list". It was a fun book so far, some parts i felt ready to cry though because of the scene where the lady character was dumped by her boyfriend of 5 years, and well I thought, this could be a good topic, to ask you fellow mylotters how long have you been single or when was the longest time you were single?
To share mine, I had first boyfriend during my senior year in college, we broke off and had this relationship with someone the next month! haha I broke off with this guy just because i felt i don't love him anymore and it does not feel right to be with him anymore. It was 2 years when i was single and i met my latest ex who cheated on me. I broke off with him august upon learning of that and it was then another year before i got back into another relationship now.
The longest time i was single was two years ever since i have started "dating" or to be in a relationship. =)

The five years I was in college, I was single. The college life was a lil too grand & fast paced for me to want to settle down. I did try though. It never really worked out the way me and the certain female at the time had wanted it to.

Wow. You have a lot of experience e. Ha ha. I do have an experience but only once. I have my first boyfriend and after that, we broke up. It took so long befor I found another one. That was my first then, it never came to my mind to have a boyfriend again. I've been single for almost a year.

i do not think of it that way. the first boyfriend was nothing serious.. we never got around to texting each other much as it was a long distance relationship... and like the second one, it too was nothing serous and we never really sepdn so much time as boyfriends and girlfriends - i could not even remember what movies we saw together - i think we never really date...hahah

I was single for long when I was in high school. My first boy friend was back in fourth year high school and after graduation, we eventually broke up. After two or three years I guess is the longest time I was single. After that I met my current boy friend and we are together for almost eight years now.

I was with another guy when I met my husband. My ex was a former classmate in High School. We had been together for almost three years. Mu husband became my boyfriend 5 months after my ex and I broke up. Well, I don't think 5 months was really long enough to stay single after a long relationship, but things with my husband back then came all too fast.

Ive been single for 2 years now, since my divorce. i left him in feb. 2 years ago. Maybe I need to get to usa, and find my love again. Take care there...
