There is a problem after updated my laptop' BIOS

My laptop's start time will cost about 10 minutes after updated BIOS, why ? Is any body can explain to me ?
my laptop detail inforatmion:
Thinkpad X200 74574AC
System: Vista home basic 32 bites
BIOS vision: 4.0

I am not sure as to why we need to update the BIOS. They say that if you changed your operating system, you need to update your BIOS. Also, they say that some issues with computers can be solved by updating BIOS. Ten minutes is quite long and I am not sure if that is normal. You can contact your technical support for more accurate answer.

yes, somebody told me updating BIOS can solve my laptop's sleeping problem- it can't wake from sleeping status, now this problem is solved after updating, but causing this new problem, I should inquiry to professtional person, anyway, thank you for your response.
