I know we just finished celebrating Christmas and the birth of Jesus, but I was wondering if anyone has a tradition for Valentines day? I've never really thought about it until I was reading in one of my magazines last night and I loved this idea that I came across. Every year during Valentines this family makes strawberries dipped in chocolate and then gives them to their family and friends for Valentines day to show them how much they love and care for them. I would really like to start a tradition like this one for my kids and it's another great way to appreciate the people in our lives. Does your family do anything special for Valentines? Do you have any traditions you can share with us?

I love getting flowers. I only got them once in my life...well aside from carnations when I was in high school. :)

I think this is a really nice idea and maybe I'll think of sending all my friends and family that I talk to valentines cards with a little chocolate. But we don't have any valentines day traditions. We just either stick around at home and I cook us a romantic dinner and exchange little valentines gifts or we will go out to a restaurant and eat out and exchange the gifts. Just last year though we went to the rodeo here in san antonio and that was kind of like a valentines gift to one another. We are thinking about going this year as well, just not sure. But we may start making that a tradition as well. We really enjoyed going to the rodeo it is a lot of fun.

No, I really have never done any tradition for Valentine's. My husband and me might go out to eat but that is about it. He usually will give me candy also.

That sounds like an amazing idea! I might do that this year, it sounds so lovely. We have never had any traditions for Valentine's day but thanks to you we do now! Hopefully I won't eat them all before we give them to family!

I know, I got really excited after reading that article. I think Valentines day is going to become one of my favorite holidays. I'll have to come up with a tradition of my own. I love the strawberry idea though and we'll be doing that one this Valentines day.

Well, thank you Maria. Maybe Valentines Day will become a little more special to us if we concentrate on some traditions and do some little things for each other.
