I went for my interview this morning, and was hired on the spot. I will most likely get full time hours.
She had said they wanted to train me for baking afternoons, then she just called and now they want me on nights.
She said Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday morning from 12am - 8am. I really didn't want nights, but she said once I get retrained (as I worked for the company in 8 years just a refresher).
They may change it to 2 nights afternoons, and 2 midnights a week. But I told them my schedule doesn't change.
She wanted me to come in the entire week straight for nights, and I told her I have been off nights for 2 years, big change happening especially since I work other jobs.

Hi friend, good to hear that you are selected in the spot. Congrats. As she mentioned they will change the shifts soon, so you can grab this chance and get the training. All the best.

It is good news and exciting to get hired right on the spot. Congrtulations on getting the job! I wish you to enjoy your new work, Ricki.
Right now it is not that easy to get a job for most people, but if you have some special skill, it is much easier to get a job than one who has no special skill.
Enjoy your work and make some progress in it.

Wow that really is a lot. I hope that you will be able to figure out the best schedule for you and I hope that they will work with you according to that. Because like you said you do have other jobs and the shift you applied for what not nights. I hope that they don't try to just keep you on nights.

I gave them a strict availability, and she asked in the interview, I did say I could do nights wed, thurs, and fri night ONLY because of my schedule. But they are training me tues, wed, fri, and sat ( they were going to put me Thurs as well until I said something).

That is often the problem when you apply for other jobs, and they want to hire you right away, is that it will often interfere with your other work schedule, or be hrs you are not really wanting. But many times, if this is really a job you are wanting you have to learn to be flexible with them as well.

I knew you'd get it!
They'd be idiots if they didn't want to work around your schedule. It's obvious that you're a dedicated worker and take commitment seriously.

I remember this one time, I was working full tme nights, plus my other jobs. A friend had invited me out to this concert. I had gotten off work at 7am, and was awake until 7am the next morning. I was at work, sat down, and just fell asleep right away, the lady I was working with was throwing this, and screaming, it was hilarious, she said I didn't move a muscle for an hour.

That's great you got it now hopefully they will still stick to working around your other work schedules and not toy with you. Good luck working all these jobs and I hope it's something you'll enjoy.

Its good that you were hired on the spot but that sucks that they aren't willing to help you out with the whole schedule thing. Did you let them know ahead of time that you only wanted to work a certain schedule. Either way though, if they are not willing to work with you on the schedule you are asking for then maybe you should search for another job with someone who is willing to give you the hours you want.

It sounds like they really need someone to works nights. Doesn't sound you are that desperate to find a job. Not a good match.
I got hired on the spot at a day care center. I started working the day after I filled out the application. I was so eager to work with children that I didn't notice that wasn't a good sign. It was the most bizarre day care I have ever encountered. The day care director didn't care about the children, only the business. The assistant day care director was lazy. Both had been in the day care business for years so parents trusted them. But what when on when the parents weren't there was shocking.
I finally reported this day care the day after I quit. This day care was shut down 3 weeks after I reported it. Ummm.... perhaps, I wasn't the only one who thought this day care was neglecting and not caring for the children properly.
If you don't want to work nights, find another job or work there until you get another job. You will probably be stuck on nights at this job for a loooong time.

Involving kids or seniros then I would report it, I use to work in a retirement home, and got fired for sticking up for some of the residents.
I am going to work there until at least May, to save up some money, then my seasonal job will come back full time. There are no jobs here it has taken me about 2 years to find another steady full time income.
But the way on the phone, I think they just want me steady nights for the week, then go 2 days afternoons, 2 nights, they will clarify it on Monday or Tuesday. But normally when they hire you, they will put you on days or afternoons for a month then put you on nights, I wasn't expecting next week to be on nights, it does put a toll on your body especially working several otehr jobs at once.
