Cromartie high school

For quite a while now I have been introducing friends to cromartie high school, which I think is utterly hilarious but I'd say 90% of people I show it to don't seem to get the sense of humour or are generally put off for some reason. Maybe it's the ridiculous and somewhat moronic nature of the dialogue, but in my mind this is self reflexive and therefore actually very clever. Has anyone seen it and if so does anyone agree that it is comedy gold?

I know exactly what you're talking about Tornknee I really like Cromartie High School and for some weird reason my sister does too. I just love the opening theme song it really good and well written but most people wouldn't see it that way. Too bad that the episode are so short.

one of the best stoner type of anime.
i laugh my a$$ out when i wathed the episode where all of the
students hummed to a tune that they even can't tell the title
of the song that they are humming.
try also detroit metal city animated series. that one's epic. _0)

Yeah that episode is brilliant. I think my favourite is the first intro to utaka takenouchi and his motion sickness. Haven't seen the dmc series, just the live action movie and it is one of my favourite movies of all time. I'll definitely have to check the series, thanks for the tip

I have not really watched a lot of anime that focuses on the delinquent lifestyle, but this one does make me laugh. However, it might not be for everyone. I also tried getting my friends to watch it, but they watched the first episode and didn't seem like they would continue it.
