Might Muslim Terrorists Use This Passage as Justification for Violence?

22.39-40 "Permission (to fight) is given to those upon whom war is made because they are oppressed, and most surely Allah is well able to assist them; Those who have been expelled from their homes without a just cause except that they say: Our Lord is Allah...."
Might some get the bad idea that people are 'waging war against them' by simply 'not using their name for the god they worship?
How can we encourage Muslims NOT to become terrorists?

Hello,
A true Muslim will not do anything wrong like that.. Because our Religion does not give us the permission to Kill someone.. And our Allah says us to not to Force anyone to Accept Islam.. If people try to know about Islam they will automatically convert... ISLAM is a Peaceful Religion.. Some of them Misbehave and people think wrong about us..

Islam does not mean "peace," but "submission."

@mythociate actually it is derived from the arabic word aslama (to have saved)-yuslimu(to be saving) -islaman (noun form of "to save"/salvation). These words are rooted from word salam (peace).
though it is also right that aslama means "to receive, to give in, to submit one's self" in teological term.

@kyrararen Sometimes I like to assume that the original meanings of words are "the true meaning" and today's meaning means nothing (like an alteration on a jazz-melody). But people 'of today' do the exact opposite sometimes, assuming the new meaning improved upon- and erased the original

You seem to imply that most muslims are terrorists. I think it is not true. And I could say the same thing about the way any big country handles his exterior politics.

@mythociate The video was not available from where I live. I disagree that all terrorists are muslims, then and now.

Reminds me of an argument Trevor Noah asked asked 'a representative of Islam' about---the argument some make that "Maybe not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists (lately) are Muslims"
The Daily Show is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning program that looks at the day's top headlines through a sharp, reality-based lens. Along with the help of The Best F#@king News Team Ever, Trevor Noah covers the biggest news stories in politics, pop cult

from your question, it is implied that muslims are becoming terrorists by default. do you have any idea how many muslims are in the world?
I agreed with Naseem00 that you should define what terrorism is. what is a terrorist? that thing you mentioned above, in the beginning of your post, stated that "...Those who have been expelled from their homes withouth a just..."
tell me, would you keep silent and just let people kick you out of your own house?

I would find the just cause (rather than just quit searching after I make up some "unjust cause" to get angry about.)
