Slicing a dead pregnant shark

Ah, YouTube comment wars. I sometimes love participating in them when I can attack n00bs with logic and the power of facts. Well, today, there was a particular video which caused mass hysteria in the comments section there. The video (titled Shark babies pups being delivered on boat) showed a man slicing a dead Blacktip shark off the coast of Panama City Beach, Florida. *cue audience groans, rage shouts, readying of torches* But here's the catch: The shark was pregnant and still had its babies within. So, the man gets the pups out, and tosses each one out, amid the calls of seagulls above. Video ends. Later after I watched the video for the first time, I checked the description. Mainly an explanation of how the shark was dead and a few short arguments. The comments section was a total disaster. So many people yelling down each others gullets about how "poor" the mother shark was, being sliced up by hillbillies and how the mother would've cared for the little pups, and how the pups would die and how the author of the video should be burnt on a stake, etc, etc. Well, you can see my YouTube comment replies on that video (sorry for the spicy language, in advance). Now that you have all the resources that you'll need for this discussion, what do you think about the video? How could've the shark been treated better or was that the best answer to solving the problem?
