I was falling asleep finally around 12am yesterday and then the apartment shook really bad. My little dog was so scared he wouldn't get out of his kennel. I woke my son up mins later because of our friends knocking on the door. they said lets go Tsunami is coming. I found out in the car while waiting their was 7.7 magnitude of a earthquake we had. Have you had any earthquakes lately? what did you do? I am so glad it was canceled and we had no tsunami.

That is a really scary earthquake.. 7.7 is very bad.. We had a 4-6 point something last year, and that even ruined some houses in some parts of our country. I hope everything is all right there.. Good thing there really was no tsunami.. The last earthquake we had was last year, i think it was probably- August-October.. but it was not too much in our island, there was quite a panic though since some joked abut tsunami.

Hi lizzyt! I am in here in The Philippines and we've had several earthquakes last year. Though, the place where I am at (Manila)was not really affected, it was still scary to hear news about this disaster. It post no warnings or whatsoever, it just happens instantly. You can never be prepared for it. What you can do is to just have the presence of mind to know what to do in that situation..
It is good that you are fine and I hope that the earthquake did no harm to anybody there in Alaska. Tsunamis are also scary. Are you near the sea? You must be very alert at all times. I pray that you will be safe!
Have a nice day to you!

it is always wise to keep updated through the media to know what's best to do during and after the disaster. the strong eathquake you had in alaska could cause a tsunami. it is good that it did not come as projected. the lessons we had during the tsunami in indian ocean in 2004 and east japan tsunami in 2011. we benefits from those experiences.

I dont have any experience with earthquake because our country not in pacific ring of fire but there is something strange happen here. I not remember which year small earthquake happen here. I watch in news it say earthquake with 4.8 richter scale happen at South China Sea. It happen around near 6 am if i'm not mistaken. Is very strange because we not live at a place which is always having earthquake.

Years ago, i had experienced real bad earthquake... I was working as clerk in ome of the pharmceutical company. My twble was in front of shelf full of beakers and test tubes. They were all shaking real hard as hard as my knees because i felt how the earthquake was, as if we were in the washing machine. So scary...

My last experience of earthquake was last year. I was out trying to complete some requirements for some documents and I was in a store standing when the earthquake happened. At first I thought it's just the copy machine that's moving wildly but I realize that it's not and saw the vehicles sawying in the road. I got really scared and when I reached in the center of the city it was very chaotic because someone shouted tsunami is coming and everyone got panicked..
