I don't think so.It may make you mul-nutritious.It leads to the lack of protein and make you not so energetic. We ought to keep a balanced diet. You can eat some fish, meat and egg as well.
Good luck to your training.Have a nice weekend.

Eating veges and fruits a lot is good for our health. We have fruitarian and vegetarian. But you need to know how to eat meat, just in case your going to a meeting and need to get dinner. What if the host of that meeting didn't know that you don't eat meat, its awkward if you don't eat or its awkward to the host. So try to balance your eating habit.

Balanced diet is what it's all about. I get a little bit of everything each day. Hopefully I am doing good enough. I try not to eat too many fruits though because it usually upsets my stomach for some reason.

Not at all, if you just fast on fruits and vegetables it will keep you fit but not strong and energetic. And especially when you need to run a marathon. You need high protein diet like eggs, milk, chicken, fish, soybeans etc. Because only with help of protein you will get high metabolism and energy to do any rigorous workout. If you just fast on fruits and vegetables, you will not be able to run even half meter. Take bananas, milk regularly also drink water a lot it will keep you hydrated which will help in better sweat flow.

I don't think that the nutrients you get from fruits and vegetables would be enough for you to sustain in a day most especially if you arr running. You need carbohydrates and protein as well to give you energy and heat.

Hi soughtseven
It is hard to say that eating vegetables and fruits will keep you healthy because specific kind of food contain specific vitamins and minerals so along with vegetables and fruits we have to add wheat, grains, nuts and seeds also. Only vegetables and fruits will not give you proper nutrition.

I know a friend who runs these all the time here. he eats alot of different things with protein in them. I think youll need more than fruits and veggies. Make sure you search online for this.

There's actually no limit for veggies and fruits if your body is well. Running for marathon requires a lot of energy maybe 3000 to 5000 Kilo Calories and maybe even more than that. From what I've studied, eating only veggies and fruits won't help if you're preparing for marathon. I would suggest you should add some high carb and high protein diet too. It really is necessary if you're preparing for any kind of race, let it be marathon, cycling or anything that requires endurance. You shouldn't eat fatty foods too much when the competition is just a few days far as it will tend to make you heavy and lazy. Lean meat, seafood, whole grain food items are good for you.

Good response. I am eating a pretty balanced diet but I know fruits and verse are good for your health. I eat fish and eggs a lot andI know they are good for keeping up your metabolism. I think I am doing a pretty good job. Sometimes iI just don't know when to quit and I over do it. Same with my running, I tend to do too much at one time and now my knee has it band problems. But thanks for the response.
