There's a saying "how large is the buttonhole, the button is". Applying this dictum to a family income, it means spend much (buttonhole) because the family has got a big income (button). Not a few families are following this kind of lifestyle; they're guilty of spending way, way beyond what they earned, resulting in piles of indebtedness. This is a bad dictum. Don't follow this. LIVE WITHIN INCOME. Results: No debt to pay, no agents to visit you, happiness, peace and joy reign in the family. Any personal idea from you?

Great thinking. Make a budget and live within that budget. Pay cash for everything you buy and keep all of your receipts. Make menus and stick to the menu. Shop to what you have on your menu. Use the foods you have in your pantry and remember you are "not the bank of Mom or Dad" and if the kids want something extra, they can buy it themselves.

You are correct and it is always wise to think twice before spending your money. If you are salaried person then one has to do the good budget about spending and saving for the month well in advance, so that at of month they does not run short of money.

Yes you are correct and there is also another saying like " Spread Your legs seeing the sizw of bed". So it is always good to spend base on your spending capacity

Yes, I have always lived within my income, irrespective of whether I have had a well paid job at the time or not. I am perfectly happy spending money on a new television or a holiday etcetera, but if I do not have the money to pay for it then I will not even consider it.
It seems very easy to purchase desired items by the use of a credit card, but the problem is that the money has to be repaid with interest. If I find that I have limited resources to live on, then adding another bill to pay in the future will only make the situation worse.
I use a credit card, but only for convenience. It is much easier to pay by card than to carry large amounts of cash for a special item. It also makes buying via the internet much easier. However, if I did not have the money available to settle the bill as soon as it appears then I would not use it at all.

I agree that we should only spend as much money as we get. It's also good to save some money when we can so that we will have some funds available when something bad happens like if someone loses their job or needs to go to the hospital. Living on less money doesn't necessarily mean living worst though so it's a net increase in happiness.

Yes, that is quite right.. if everyone does that then no one would be in debt. I do not borrow money unless i have no choice, since it is a hassle. We always have a budget and we follow it, so we won't run out of money. There are less problems if you live by that rule.

I learned my lesson in once being indebted because of living beyond my means.
Thus, now we only shop when i have extra money from my budget of the necessities. I don't use my credit card anymore, because it makes me buy on impulse.
Most of all, my family and i learned how to live simply and thus be happy on simple things.

You are absolutely right about that. I don't have any disagreement with you, my friend. But sadly because of the influence of the media, many of us can't control ourselves in spending money especially children of today. I always plan on living in a remote place to get away from temptations and to live a simple life.
Have a nice day and happy mylotting! :)
