I just woke up out of my sleep with a toothache...any thing to try before making emergency trip for Anbesol. I've tried gargling with warm salt water but maybe I'm doing this wrong because it doesn't seem to be working....how long is it supposed to take?

I am so sorry, I understand how badly that hurts. I get toothaches all the time and their the worst!
I usually hold a warm washcloth to the side of my mouth that's hurting, it takes the edge off, then I gargle with peroxide. Just don't swallow that, its not good to do that. Or you can gargle with mouth wash which also helps.
I also find that wrapping small pieces of bread around the offending tooth or packing tooth with small pieces of bread dipped in either olive or sesame oil and then leaving it there for as long as I can stand it, then refreshing it if needed, gives me some added relief.
I hope you feel better soon and I hope that pain goes away!

Hi there, sad to know your mornings are so bad . Well one remedy which works for most of my friends but not all of them, it is you can try to apply some clove oil. If you have clove in your spice rack take them crush them a bit apply the oil that comes out of it, or you can simply keep it under the tooth that is aching. And keep on pressing it slightly until the juice comes out and sinks in the gums of your tooth. That should give you some relief.
