and all I could do was laugh. I laughed so hard it brought tears to my eyes. Poor kid just sat there with milk in his lap looking at me. What a way to wake up in the morning. I think today is going to be a good day. What have you laughed about already today?

Maybe something will happen later in the day to cheer you up. Today we will be staying home and relaxing and later this afternoon my 20 year old daughter will be coming over to visit. We might watch some movies and I'll probably clean the bedroom. Enjoy your day

Not really so much for me to laugh at so far today. I've been here mostly by myself all day and I've been trying to get some work done. Then my husband has a CT scan today to check and make sure that he is still cancer free. Therefore, the CT scan is something that really does have me concerned. I'm pretty confident that everything is going to be okay, but there is always that chance that resides in the back of my mind that he is going to get sick again and will have to go through it all over again.

Keeping a positive attitude in such circumstances can be hard on anyone, but it is important to keep spirits up and attitudes positive for those of our family members that need it.
I always try to find something positive in everyday no matter what. I am sending positive vibes out into the universe for your husband.

I wonder how old is your son, if he is still young kids, it may really look funny that he spilled his bowl of cereal and giving a confusing look not knowing what has actually happened. It is good that you did not scold him for that and instead enjoy the moment. Many would have gotten upset and scold or beat their children because of such small matters. Judging from the way you live through it, I would say that the day will be good for you as you look and handle things positively.

Nah, he saw the humor in it too. I would never scold my kids for spilling something. Hey, I am an adult and I still spill things, make stains, etc..
It sure was funny and it put a bright spot in the morning. I think it is good for us to be able to teach our kids to laugh at ourselves. It helps us to grow a backbone.
Thank you Squallming, very sweet of you and such kind words too. Have a great evening.

I hoped your son will be able to see the funny side to life - even first thing in the morning. Sometimes, we do need a good laugh.
One time when my kids were still teenagers, my husband and I and our kids decided to play Skip-Bo, which is a family card game. We enjoyed playing so much, that we just kept on playing and playing. The later it got, the more tired we got and the sillier we got. And the more we giggled and laughed. We didn't care who was winning or losing, we just enjoyed our time together.
We didn't want to quit and go to bed. Our kids wanted to stay up all night. Well, we made it until 4am, and then, we all were just too tired to keep on playing until daybreak. It was a great family togetherness time. It was silly but we had a great time laughing together. That is what make it so precious - a time to just enjoying being together. It made such a great memory.

My son is 12, and yeah he was able to relate to how funny I thought it was. He gave me a good laugh too.
I haven't heard about Skip-bo in a long time. Do they even still make that card game? Those are the best times when you just get to spend time together as a family. I can see my kids getting sillier as the night wore on too. They just get really silly when they are tired. Sounds like a fun time was had by all.
Thank you for sharing that story with us.
