We are paid to discuss here right? not paid to just post and post...

Mexico
January 6, 2013 2:02pm CST
Sorry but the last 3 days Ive noticed a person here post 20-30 posts and almost never respond to any responces. To me we are paid to discuss, not paid to post. Thats all the fun here, to discuss back and forth. I hope this person doesnt earn from that. We work hard here, as well. To me its disrespectfull not to respond back. Now, I understand some cant be here all day. But come on, get with the program. Sorry just my opinion, on it here.

I think it is good to respong to question and discuss. I think that's how you make money on here. Referrals and friends help I think as well. Want to be my friend? Good luck.

I added you as a friend, now you need to accept. I see you posted on my other discussion about my running. Do you know a lot about running in general or just dieting? I am trying to train for a half-marathon and need to get up to 10 miles by April 6th. I am only at like 3 miles. Maybe I will post another topic about that. Look out for it.

I hear you on that one. Although it's hard to keep up with a lot of discussions that we have going on here. But I do agree, it's about 'discussing' and not just repeatedly posting. I find it sad when you see people starting a million nonsense discussions - they usually end up getting deleted and the person gets absolutely nothing out of it anyway. Hmph!

Yeah that could get a little old after a while I would think. I think this site is just like Yahoo! Answers but you get paid and meet a lot more people. It's more user-friendly, I am liking it a lot so far.

Actually some of them are old hands and have been here a long time, and this is what they do because they feel it works well enough for them. I just do not see it, though and I find that I am responding to those particular people less and less because you do not get any feedback and do not get any motivation to keep visiting with them.

That's right, this is a discussion forum. I always make a point to respond to every discussion that I post. We want to discuss the topics we create, so we can get others insights.. I enjoy discussing topics because we get to learn more about the people we are having conversations with. This is one of the reasons why I enjoy mylot. You get out of life what you put into it, if you're not putting any effort into it, you won't get anything from it.

They're doing a lot more than they really have to in my opinion. It takes up more effort for me to either open up a bunch of discussions and respond once, and especially more effort to continually come up with a new topic when it isn't necessary! We know they are not earning very much from that and not having as much fun as we are!

It is much more fun to join in on allof the boxes on discussions started by others and, as you say, it is easier too. I don't remember the last topic I started and it must be last year by now

Antverdosky, if you have your notifications turned on, and if everything is working right on the site you should get an e mail notification when someone comments on your responses. Maria is right, become familiar with the terms or guidelines and you will find it very helpful. Welcome to our little site, I sure hope you have fun here.

welcome here, id say make sure you read the terms first. And then asked us some questions if you have some. Have fun here, I sure so...

Hi Maria! Yes, you are very right that we are paid for our discussions not just for posting a topic. I prefer to respond to discussions of those mylotters/friends who normally post their comments on my responses. If I notice that my response is not being commented, from next time, I skip the discussion of that paeticular mylotter. On my part when I start a new post, I make it a point to post my comments to all the meaningful responses. And needless to mention I love chain comments. :-)

maria right on thats part of the f un in reaching out t o each other and discussing things and learning from each other. I try my darnedest to comment back on all responses I get even if I have to take a couple of days to get them all commented on. We comment on responses and respond to discussions okay but most never realize there is a real mylot vocabulary they use so most just respond and comment all over the place and at times I have to sory it out ,.as really above my box here mylot writed respond to this discussion.,Now if you come back and respond to my response it is really comment back to m y response so its less confusing mylot way.check it out as you comment back you will see mylot writes comment on the responses.

We call that "discussion spammers". If they post like that, and never respond to my discussions, I may delete them. If they post like that, and do respond to my discussions, I may turn off notifications for that person. It just isn't fair to everybody else...

Hi Marìa, Whenever I spot such a person, I stop answering their discussions and try to remember who he/she is so I don`t fall for it. I don`t come here to earn money. In fact, although I`m happy when I reach cashout, I seek here frienship. So posts without answers are absolutly meaningless. I must confess though that I don`t always respond to all those who answer my posts. Sometimes I don`t have the time, others I just don`t know what to say.

There could be several reasons for the person not responding back.. For one...whatever he or she wanted to say or thought about is already mentioned by somebody else, and as per myLot rules, we are supposed to read the previous boxes, right? Second reason, he or she may have accepted or acknowledged whatever you mentioned, and therefore, does not have any further comments to offer.. Third reason...may be busy with some other discussion that has him or her involved in a deeper issue...may get back at a later stage to all those previous boxes..

Depends...like some issue is eating my brain and my time...and I want a solution to it...and I ask other people for their opinion on it, and suggestions...I wait for one that I would not have thought of...that kind...and if it is not forthcoming, responding may be just ...well, I could ask people for their opinion on something else that I had on my mind in the meanwhile kind... I dont get worked up about it, and dont bother...but when I respond, I truly think and write what I feel is appropriate for that..but sometimes, I do stray from the main issue of the discussion, which is not very nice...on my part, and at other times, I tend to recall or correlate it with personal experience which is again not very nice. :) But then..

I see, I notice other members here are upset for the same reason. Also, I notice there are people here who post a lot but don't often respond. Just leave them at it. It's their way of earning. Besides that style of earning here is very frustrating. It's not our loss, it's theirs. I don't think there's a rule against what they are doing though.

You are correct, there is not really a rule against doing that, as long as their discussions do not violate the guidelines. It is their way of earning but to me, that seems like the hard way to go about it. I certainly cannot think of that many things to post, and I guess I just do not care to post every thought that runs through my mind.

I agree. It's not fun when you just post but don't get any response from that post. Makes you feel like a robot right? Like I said, it's not our loss so there isn't any need to feel upset. There's no rule against writing that many posts in a day.

I recently had to delete a friend because they did just that, I just couldn't keep up with them, they were churning them out left right and centre! How can anyone possibly have the time to acknowledge the responses to all their discussions? But as you rightly pointed out they don't and that is what irks me.

I have seen a lot of discussions in the questinon and answer category, and this person must have had over 20 discussions there. You know pretty much, that the user is just trying to make as much as they can and not commenting back to anyone either. When I see one person post one discussion after another, I only know why they are here, and I won't respond to their discussions, as I know they will never comment back. It really is their los too, as they just don't understand how mylot works. I think in time though, when they don't earn, they will realize they aren't earning because they aren't taking the cime to comment back to the responses they receive. It might also be a possibility, that most of the discussions they start, get delted. It is really sad, when they can't even take the time to comment back to responders. I alsways do, but then I usually only start one at a time, whenever i start discussions that is. did respond to one user that has lots of discusions started in one day, as the first discussion interested me, but the rest I will ignore. It just goes to show you, that users will come in here, start posting, and not read the guidelines first. Take care, and have a great day.
