I myself don't think I get that each night, i'm good if I can get that once a week. I sometimes times go to sleep late and then have to turn around and get up in the morning, then start the same circle over and over the next day. I think that if we were able to get the full 8 hours of sleep a day we will be well rested and our bodies won't be so in stress or hurting or just tired in general. I'm going to try to get more rest because it is needed =, I have to start changing my sleeping patterns what about you?

I definitely don't get that many hours a night as I have lots of back problems, and I just toss and turn, and can't get comfortable. I also have dogs, and when they need to go out, I have to get up and let them out to go. I do get close to either hours though, and that is good, but I hate the fact, that sometimes I end up waking up in the middle of the night and lie there and jsut can't go back to sleep. It doesn't happen all that much though, and I am glad for that. i did change pillows, so it has helped me some, as I have been getting a little more sleep lately, than I did before. I hope that one of thse nights, I do get at least eight hours of sleep. Take care, and have a good day.

I wish I could get that much sleep. Only sometimes do I get 6 or 7 hours of sleep. When I was younger I used to get 8hrs. but lately been only getting 4 or 5 hours of sleep due to the earthquakes we've been getting in my town. Thankfully no damage to my home or the town I live in. I've been dealing with earthquakes in Alaska since I was younger so I am afraid of them and can't sleep for hours after one happens. Hopefully none tonight and I get more sleep. Coffee kept me alive today.

I don't know but some stress shortened my sleep and it never gets to normal. I used to have no problems with sleeping. I can also sleep easily at any point of the day as a nap, now I cannot do it anymore. I experience now if I have deep sleep for 4 or 5 hours it seems enough for me at night.

Hi Averygirl72, thank you for your comment. I am sorry to hear that for some stress it has come in between your sleeping pattermns. Things will get better, try not to worry and stay focus on no worring and things will get easier and lighter for you and you will find your rest come back, it's takes one day at a time, as long as you are managing to obtain some sleep throughout the day okay.Don't worry.!!!:)

I get that most nights and I can say yes you do feel so much better and more energy when you get the right amount of sleep and you are less stressed. You have to get your body in a pattern. If you have to get up for work in the mornings just try even going to bed that little bit earlier, you may not sleep straight away but your body should start getting used to it and eventually you will. If you havea hard time sleeping try having a cup of camomille tea in the evening

Oh thank you I love cheetahs too It sure does, I love my sleep I really noticed the difference after I left my job and had a good amount of time off. I felt less stressed and more relaxed and happy, it's really good not having to set an alarm and waking naturally

Hi babyCheetah, thank you for your response. I think that is awesome that you got some time off from your job to catch up on your rest and this is always a plus right. That alarm can be a problem for us, really when we don't have the nergy to wake and nor do we feel like waking up to attend a job that has us beat.!!!:)

Hi BabyCheetah Love your picture of the cheetah that's one of my favorite prints. But yes getting the right sleep can do wonders for our body i'm telling you. Sometime when we don't get enough sleep and we trying to push ourselves our bodies will just burn out completely and next thing you know we can end up in a hospital or sometimes not so severe but just on a coach knock out somewhere just so tired.!!!:)

I am so fond of sleep so I will get to bed early, nearly at 10:30pm, and I will get up at 7:30 in the morning. If i have not enough sleep in the night, i will be sleepy when i am working.

Hi Echo060201, I can see how this will happen. I am glad to see that you are fond of sleep, that let me know that you like getting your rest so that you can be as strong as possible.I feel that when I myself don't get enough sleep I wake up later then I am suppose to and then I still feel tired as well.!!!:)

I keep about 8 hours sleep almost each nigh. But, I still feel not enough.Every morning,I need struggle to get up,struggle at least ten minutes after the alarm clock rang. I always feel tied after a day work of 8 hours. Maybe just because I lack of sports.

Hi Xiaoyaozzl, Hi thank you for your comment appreciate it. I think that you may still feel tired depending on the hour that you did fall asleep. Maybe you went to sleep after 12a.m or something like that and studies show that, that is not counted as getting a real 8 hours of sleep. Try to keep doing what you are doing getting sleep, some people are just not morning folks you know but long so you are getting some hours of sleep throughout your night.!!!:)

My average sleeping hours is around 5-7 and I seldom get 8. I know that we need 8 hours to have an effective rest and good sleep but it's kind of hard for me to get it. I don't have an insomnia but all this is because my son is still 2 years old and really wants to play. It's just bad that whenever he gets to sleep, I don't feel sleepy.

Hiya shante, Sometimes worries can keep you awake and even if you want to sleep you cannot. I think that if we wake up early than other days there is no reason in particular perhaps we need to get up and move all we can and compensate the energies so to speak. Normally I sleep 8 hours but there can be times that other external things like a lot of traffic that wakes me up much earlier.xxx

I am a mother of 4 boys who are all school age. That being said, requires me to get up as early as 4am to cook their breakfast as well their packed lunch. I get tired so early in the morning during weekdays! At night, I try to sleep as early as 9pm for as long as there are no more homeworks left undone. But most of the time, I could not sleep that early coz my husband would be watching the tv until past midnight.

I get eight hours of sleep or more hours each night. I usually feel sleepy around 9pm, then I go to bed, I can fall asleep around 10, and I get up at six almost every morning. If I can't get enough sleep, I can't concentrate on my study. And I often have a nap after lunchtime. It make me feel refreshed .

Hi Caopaopao, that is a great comment you made. I think this is true and another thing the time we go to bed is very important so that we get the 8 hours we need. I have you know that if we go to bed at 12a.m and then say we going to get 8 hours then that's not really 8 hours of rest, studies show that it must be 8 hours befor going into midnight. This means that going to bed around 9 or 10 is a right and good time to get 8 hours of sleep that will do our body good.!!!:)

I usually sleep for 7 hours at most, if I'm very busy it can be 5 hours or 6 hours. However I feel so sleepy the next day if I sleep just for 5 hours. The best time for me to sleep is 7 hours after all, I rarely can sleep for 8 hours, since I wake up in my own after all. Seems like my body has adjusted to it.

I don't have that hours of sleep every day. Ever since my son was born I have only few hours to sleep. I attend to him. Now, he is three years old I gain few hours of sleep already. :-) That's life anyway. :-)

Hi Edvc77, Thank you for your comment. I know that with life it brings many things and this is a wonderful thing that you are being a great parent and tending to your son, because that's whats needed after all, and then you are still managing to get some hours of sleep and that is better then none you know, but Hopefully you will in fact be able to gain the 8 hours of sleep that your body needs soon and this will bring you much more strength and fuel to your body.!!!:)

Hi Misjoseph, this is so very true. I find myself at a lost for hours of my sleep, because of similar things to this that you listed, like spending time at work, or with family and friends and online. We must just set boundaries and stick to them, we can't over do nothing because our body gets it's fuel from our rest, sleeping, we are design to get sleep and a certain amount of it annd when we don't then "Houston We Have A Problem." lol !!:)

I don't have a regular sleeping schedule. I wish I could but I sleep at all different times of the day. Here lately I have been getting anywhere from 7 to 10 hours of sleep but I have been going to sleep in the middle of the night or towards morning and waking up between 2 and 4 pm. I don't have a job right now to keep me on a regular pattern though. So that's what happens. I think I have insomnia at times because even if I'm sleepy, I have a hard time going to sleep at night. Sometimes I wake up sore, and still feel tired, as if I didn't get much sleep, even though I did.

Hi Yarnprty, I am sorry to hear that you may have isomnia. this is something that we all can have if we get off of our daily sleeping patterns, and I can see how not having a job may cause this for you because there is no set appointments to be met. Things will get better you just have to set a goal to try and be in bed by a certain time and then start allowing your body to get use to this new sleeping pattern you know?!!!:)

I try to get that much sleep but i never do. I actually need to sleep less than eight hours to be able to sleep early thed next night. Especially now that i am working. I usually go to bed around midnight or one o clock to wake up around 7 to 7:30. Then i get ready to leave the house around 8:15.

I don't. I get very little sleep everyday because it's just isn't my nature to be asleep much of the time. LOL. I was an insomniac back in the day and now I have gotten used to having less than 8 hours of sleep per day. I get sleepy sometimes and that to me is amazing. Sad to say, I cannot always respond to my body when it comes to sleep. There are times I want to sleep but can't and vice versa.

You are absolutely right, at least 7-8 hours of sleep is necessary for a body to fully recover and to be fresh in the morning to start the new day. But just like you, it's impossible for me, too. Most of my work requires staying late at night at the computer, because of the time zone I live in. Also, on weekends, when I decide that I can sleep late at least one morning, hm... My daughter (she is five) decides she's slept enough and get up earlier than the week, sometimes even at 7 a.m. Having in mind I went to bed at 2-3 a.m., you can only imagine how much I sleep. So, even if I want to change my sleeping patterns, it's almost impossible, so I try to "steal" some time during the day, so that I can work a little later in the evening.

When you’re scrambling to meet the demands of modern life, cutting back on sleep can seem like the only answer. Who can afford to spend so much time sleeping? The truth is you can’t afford not to. Even minimal sleep loss takes a toll on your mood, energy, and ability to handle stress.

I used to have a very healthy shedule. Unfortunately, due to i-love-to-party friends I gradually started to lose that. Before I used to go to bed at 10 o'clock and wake up at 7 in the morning. At that time I used to feel best. And I also looked healthier. Nowadays, I go to bed at 1 am, and I wake up feeling sleepy and tired. I think that I get 8 hours of sleep but the problem is not only this. The most important thing is at what hour you go to sleep. The healthiest sleep is between 10 and 12 pm. This is a fact.
