A correct batsman will do well in any format but an incomlete batsman may not do well in tests. Pujara is ure to succedd in which ever format he plays but guys like Raina, Yuvi have showed that they don't belong in tests. But it si strange to see the reluctance on the part of selectors to get in Pujara. Is it the superstar cricket mafia, responsible for this sorry state?
Where are are M Vijay, Mukund, Pandey and Rayudu? If the blokes can do well in t-20 can't they do well in ODI.Vijay looks to be an accomplished batsman who has to get more chance, who knows he can become a genuine opener. Gambhir is never going to be a genuine opener and should be moved down the order. Sehwag is on the decline
Anyway, the superstar cricket mafia should be made to slacken its hold on Indian cricket. Most of them are gone but some of the younger superstars need to be disciplined too, particularly the Delhi lot.

Let's see how Pujara performs in coming series. But I'm afraid whether he would get any chance. Talking of Murali Vijay, he has been given chances but he failed miserably and I don't see Dhoni is confident about Vijay. Vijay will find it very difficult in International arena. There are other players who have performed better than Raydu in domestic level, so Raydu is out of question. T20 should never be the yardstick for ODI selection. It has proved disaster for India in the past.
Yes, Gambhir is really struggling and if he fails against England, he can be sacked down by selectors. Happy New Year to you.

Murali was never a miserable failure as you say. Maybe, a correction in attitude is needed. But then most Indian players are suffering from poor attitude and that is making it difficult for them to adjust to different formats.
Rayudu is better than you think. Match practice is far more important than domestic match practice. T-20 puts players in desperate situations and makes them tougher mentally. Most cricketers of the modern world are finding it difficult to adjust to different formats but unlike in India, they are making their choice of format and even the respective boards is helping them in making that deceison, notably Cricket Australia.
In India, if you are good you are expected to play all formats and they don't feel secure enough to put their foot down and say no. Yovi should realize his test record is unlikely to improve but he feels he is a lesser cricketer if he does not prove himself at test level. the same applies to Raina, who can be devastating in T-20.
On the other hand Pujara who is a far better batsman, technique wise, is not given a chance in ODIs and T-20. It is not his strike rate that is in his way. It is the strangle hold that superstar players have on their spots in the team, irrespective of the format. How else do you explain the return of Yuvi to all formats so quickly.
The players have to understand that playing all three formats is going to corrupt their game and technique, and impact their temperament. physical and mental fitness. But the lure of money in the shorter format is irresistible, I guess.

Yes I also have a doubt that whether he will get a chance or not. Rahane is already in the waiting list and I think Dhoni will be dropping him only if he failed perform well in at least 3 matches continuously. Let us wait and see what happens.

Write an epitaph for Sehwag. Did you see his statistics or 2012? Apalling. Really appreciate Dhoni's patience in giving him chance after chance to succeed and return to his form. But he let down Dhoni every time...
And I didnt like Krishnamachari Srikanth saying Dhoni should no longer be captain because the team lost one game too many. Everytime Dhoni has played a captain's knock. Something Srikanth would not have done. He rarely crossed 50's remember? Whereas Dhoni knows how to play both types of game, slow and steady as well as fast scoring. Agreed he is aging. But hey, where is the successor...I dont see anybody on the horizon. Gambhir did succeed as captain for Kolkatta knight riders, but after that his form is hardly likely to be appreciated by the team.
For now...Dhoni it is...just that when Rahane was in form...he should have been taken for the first and second ODI with Pakistan instead of Veeru. And as subsequently corrected, Jadeja's inclusion helped. I am glad that the new kid on the block is better than Dinda..
With Pakistan, the series mattered a lot...its national sentiment...Rahane should have been there...that is all that I can say.

Hey, I like the way you look at things now. A sea change from last year when you were indecisive and always sounded scared and pessimistic. Keep it up Sis.
Dhoni is good and he took up the challenge when seniors had refused the job to prolong their careers. If he had not done well he may have been discarded promptly.
Now that the team is doing badly, he has displayed that he is still capable of performing well in all formats. The near test century and the ODI knocks were played in tough situations. He can still drag this team-in-transition to winning ways and prove that he is the best ever captain of India.

Yes, selectors has made a big decision to drop Sehwag and to include Chetherswar Pujara. But they didn't drop Rohit Shrma from the squad. I think they are giving one more opportunity for the young man. Anyway, everyone will be waiting to see for Pujara's approach in the ODI.
