Honor Killing..only of women!!!

Hi. Recently saw a documentary on rape victims in india. It was disheartening to see how the family of rape victims treated them. There are incidences where father of girl had either killed the girl for spoiling family's name or killed himself of shame. I really fail to understand how can girl be responsible for her own rape!!!! Why don't parents kill their son for committing such a crime. How come a man gets a second chance to forget and move on, but woman has to go through so much pain (if remains alive!!) for the rest her life? It's high time parents or society punish the criminal not the victim.
