Oka’y so the story goes like this, this guy’s one of my acquaintances I don’t know him like really personally because we are not that close, and he is just a common friend of my batch mate in College.
We use to call him the “Fashionisto” because he was totally a trend-setter, any piece that is really in fashion, he would go buy one, and he wouldn’t mind if he’d look weird or the clothes doesn’t match his proportion, he is satisfied by the garments he wore.
So one time, as we were shopping, he tagged along with us because he doesn’t want to miss out on what the boutiques are putting on the show room. During that time, Varsity jackets were on trend and everybody was so into it, putting a vibe of oldies meets the new age and it was a nice jacket to match with a basic tee.
So, he didn’t hesitate to buy it on the boutique. Personally, I am not against him buying such garment unfortunately, we are living in a tropical country so, it means it is really hot most especially in daytime so, it is only suitable to wear it when going out at night or partying at night. but he was so, confident about his “fashion sense” that after buying it, and after we were done on our shopping spree along with my friends we went to a near restaurant and he wore the jacket with the hot morning weather. Funny because he was soaked sweat because it was a hot day and he don’t mind and just wear it to pull a fashion statement.
So, my question, is he a fashion slave? Or does he have an odd taste for fashion? Please share your thoughts…

I had a friend whose husband was like that. More than that, he bought anything that had a "brand". Most of the time, the garment looked horrible on him because he was fat and short. As I see it, we must wear what looks best on us and according to the climate. The rest is pityful!

LOL, "Fat and Short" That would be really awkward if he'd wore a new trend which is oversize shirts. LOL
Anyhow, this is so true, sometimes he also buys designer items which is pretty disturbing because it doesn't fit in our weather.
Thanks for your response.

I think that he is just boasting how he can manage to buy the latest trends in clothes. And even if it makes him uncomfortable, he doesn't mind. I think it is stupid to buy just anything coz it is in fashion. One should be comfortable in wearing them. Well, he must be confident wearing the jacket , but definitely, it wasn't comfortable, right? I mean, we could follow the trend but we should choose something that we wont' look like being a trying hard fashionista.

Not that he is boasting, he just feels himself being hyped by fashion that's why. however, like you mentioned being like that he is more likely to be looked as a trying hard fashionista. LOL.
Thanks for your response.

Sounds like your friend is trying to hard to impress and to fit in. A fashion slave YES! Comfort should always come first. Very entertaining story :)

Most probably, he wants to fit in and through fashion he feels that he can blend in with the trend. LOL.
Thanks for your response.

He's a true fashion slave, at least in my eyes. Wearing something that is fashionable, but uncomfortable because of the weather is just stupid. In my country, girls do this in the winter - they think long coats would look frumpy, so they wear tiny coats which cover anything but the body part they should: their waist. And then they wonder how come they get colds so often in the winter...
