If the number of posts does not relate to how we get paid...?

the number is just a way for you to track your activity on mylot and star is just as the responder said above. When you see a user with over 50 000 posts the first thing that might come to a persons mind is that he is faithful to the site for staying that long. From that you can see there are few things you can get from this number.

Hi Hatley. I had to be focusing on school work for a while. Sorry I haven't been so active.
To be quite honest I was thinking about you when I wrote the response relating to over 50 000 posts.
That is a long time though. That is about the time when i was about 14 or so.

zoejoy you use the activity number more as an incentive to accpmplish more here but the star and rep utation are rated"by
your fellow mylotters. the percentage is your re puation and when you got to a hundred you should have been rating us every time you respond to a post here. that wa y we will all get our stars moved up; your reputation matters as its used along with your earnings in making the mylot earnings algorithm so the higher the reputation the better you will earn.blue and red are the highest for best earnings. you do know I ho e that all this information is also there in the guidelines and the FAQ's too for your reading at any time.

Somehow, I missed reading or fully comprehending about the rating. I do go back to the FAQs and it took me awhile to figure out where in the FAQs does it explain about the ratings. So, if anyone is like me - can't always figure things out on the internet and techy challenged - even on Mylot, :) here is the name of the category that explains about the ratings at the bottom of each response.
In the Mylot FAQs:
DRS - Discussion Rating System
I hope this helps others who may need the clarification as I did.
Now, I will be rating others and I already know that I will be giving most Mylotters a + rating. :)

It indicates your popularity, the red star near your number right now shows 88/100, it may change..

How mylot paid us, hardly anybody knows that. Simply writes quality content that can fetch you lot of responses and keep posting your response to others discussions. That is the only thing we can do. Referrals are the best way you can bolster your daily earning.
As for star is concerned, it's your level that you have reached in particular interest.
