My Japanese boyfriend wanted me to visit Japan and experience their culture. He said he would be happier if I know and understand the Japanese culture and speak their language. I have been expecting this and I am willing to do everything in the name of love. Of course, I want to be with him and to communicate with him very well so I am starting to study the Japanese language. Everyday, I have to make time studying it. I admit, it is indeed difficult and sometimes I feel like giving up. It is not easy to have a foreign boyfriend. And sometimes I can't help thinking of how long our relationship will go on. Uhmm,..sigh but because I love him and I really do love him I motivated myself to do it. Now, I am doing my homework on how to go to Japan and what are the requirements to get a tourist Visa. I'm scared if my application will be denied but I have to give it a try. And I am so excited to be in Japan!

Hi tess! In the name of love and your lover you will at least learn a foreign language.. Keep the good work going. I understand that Japanese is one of the most difficult languages to learn because it is a sign language. Once you master it, there will be no going back. I wish you all the best.

That's really cool. I'm sure he doesn't expect you to know everything about his language and culture. But it's nice you are making such an effort. As for how long the relationship lasts? Just enjoy it while you have it. Maybe it lasts forever. Have fun and don't worry!

I visited Japan last August and stayed there for three months and it's really beautiful, clean and the people are so fashionable. There are lots of good restaurants there and I know that you will enjoy your stay because of many beautiful places and of course because you'll be with someone you love. When you apply for your visa, just be yourself and do not lie. I'm sure you'll get through especially if he writes a letter and be your guarantor. Good luck and may both of you enjoy the vacation.

Just think positive. You will get approved. I went through the same thing, it took me a long time to finally apply for a tourist visa to Australia because I was so scared I would get disapproved. But I got approved for it and traveled last year for vacation and to meet someone. Japan is a nice country, I want to visit there someday.

Japan is the country that I am looking forward to visit. They have beautiful scenery and culture too. It is good that 'love' motivates you to learn extra language. It will be a very good asset for you in the future. You boyfriend is so nice to invite you. I hope you will get your visa soon.

I think having this so called "international relationship" is not that easy. There are many differences that you have to understand but I think you must be really in love and I am happy for you. Give it a try and nothing is impossible. Hope you can visit Japan and learn about their country first hand.

I think that would be a rare experience then. Good luck to you and remember to take care of yourself since you will be alone in a foreign land. Even if you have your boyfriend with you, there is no place like home. Wishing you all the best!

I plan on studying abroad in Japan, and it really is a great country. You will probably experience a lot of culture shock when you first get there, but it will be worth it. Also, even if it doesn't work out with your boyfriend, learning a new language is a success, even if you don't master it! So props to you!
