This afternoon I was at a friend's optical shop when in came a man selling this Papaya whitening gel. Turns out the ladies in that shop are his customers and he was asking if they wanted the product. At first he mentioned a very big figure for the product but later on said they have a promo and the price is already much, much lower. I did not intend to buy it, but when I tried the product on my arm, I was amazed because it did improve my skin! After asking a few questions, I was totally convinced and bought 3 boxes (with three tubes) of it. Whew! That was out of my budget! I bought it at the spur of the moment and I actually had very little money, but I did not think about that. I just went ahead and bought not one, but three of it, without batting an eyelash! Now I have very little money left and I don't know how to stretch this so it will be able to sustain our needs until some money kicks in. Oh boy. What did I just do? Have you done anything like this before?

I'm sorry but I was laughing because it reminds my own experience before. But my weakness is always with clothes, shoes and bags and not with beauty products. There might be family members who can help you to lend money as long as you will payback or better if you sell 1 or 2 tubes you have.

Try to demonstrate and convince like the guy did. They might be convinced if they try the product too with a little amount just for testing of course.

I think you got carried away by the selling skills of that man... to be able to sell not one but three to you... he must be very good... This happened to be before... back when i was still working... i would buy stuff that i don't really need because i was convinced by the sale person... but nowadays... since i don't have money to spare... no matter how good the person is in selling his/her product... i just kindly refuse...

I completely hear what you're saying and I definitely know what you are coming from. Sometimes it's so easy to spend money you don't have... I got into quite a bit of credit card debt that way, just spending without thinking of the consequences. I still spend poorly but I only spend money I have now days, even though sometimes overspending one-week will make me super broke for the next week. Sigh. I think the best thing to do is start figuring out why we have these spending problems and maybe just using self-discipline to stop ourselves from buying things we don't need. Gah. Best of luck to you though. By the way, can you not return the 2 boxes you don't need?

It's too late to do that since the man goes from place to place and he only pops up at certain places at certain times.

Thanks for this nice discussion. I think you can buy this later, who knows at a much cheaper price

We all do splurge shoppings sometimes... but we have to be careful about our budget. In this case, one box would have been enough... that way you could have tried one box, and if it's good, you could have bought more... later. You should have asked the guy for his number or where you can buy that stuff later...

Yes, I should have done that.

yes, it happens most of the time to me before I remember when I went to mall because i heard there's a huge sale and I felt like panic buying since I was thinking that it's so cheap and maybe next I will not get a chance again to buy so I bought more than I need same as you I cut my budget for the following days before my next payday but it was worthwhile and feel satisfied. Let's just think it's now or never. agree? enjoy lotting ;)

That have happened to me before, especially if i find the product very good and something like that will be hard to find, because sometimes even when its not in our plan, there are some situations that we mighgt find something that we want, and if we do not get it, we will not be able to find something like that in the future, or not sure if we ever get the chance to find it in another store. . And my mom is like that also if she finds a product, she coes not hesistate, she a bit of a shoppahlic, i guess.

Sometimes we do spontaneous, on the moment things that later we regret doing, but at the time we are in a different place as though our brains have been switched off. I did that once, and it was a lot more expensive that whitening gel, I actually bought a car, I had no intention I just walked past a car show room saw a lovely car and went in and bought it, I didn't even test drive it, nothing! Looking back it was a crazy thing to do, I had received some bad news the day before and I guess I was in some kind of trance. I am not saying this happened to you my friend, but it's so easy to get 'lost in the moment' and make spontaneous decisions and later wondering why!

It is a shame you have three pots of papaya whitening gel. Maybe you could keep on and sell the other two. It is a pity that now you are running out of money. I had an expensive time last Friday. My car had to have a test called an MOT and my car failed it. I had to pay for the garage to do essential repairs on my car and get rid of a warning sign on my car's dash board. I was shocked to see the bill. I had to borrow some money off my mom, pay money from my handbag and put the rest on two different bank cards. I am trying to live a bit cheaper this month by buying less food and not having any central heating on. I worry that my car will only last one more year. I have to try to save up to buy a second hand car that has a wheelchair ramp for my son. I might be able to save up in the next two years. I began saving for it in November last year so I will be able to buy another car in November 2014 hopefully.

I think everyone has but sounds like his is a traveling salesman and sometimes those things seem like they work, but when you try them again later you find out you were ripped off and they do not do what they claim to do.

The cravings drive us to buy it.I really know about it because I often buy something when the salesman keeps the promoting the items to me.But when I am back home,I would find it unnecessary actually.I feel speechless honestly. But I could not help doing it though sometimes I don't have too much money. That is why I am always over my budget.
