Do you write a shopping list before you go shopping? Most times, I write a shopping list when I go grocery shopping. When I shop for clothes, I do know what I need and want, but don't write a shopping list.
Does it help you to have a shopping list?

Yes, I use Reminders on my iPhone. I don't think it's very necessary because I can usually remember everything I need to get but sometimes it's nice to have in case I forget something.

It seems more and more people are using electronic or app shopping lists. A friend of mine uses a shopping list on her phone which I am sure is an app. I just need to figure out the best shopping list app that will suit me.
I have always used the back of an old envelope or scrap pieces of paper for shopping lists as I like to reuse or recycle as much as possible. That has worked for me for years but I am interested in learning how to use a shopping list on my smart phone.

Well I have a small note book in the shelves near dining table, my wife and others are instructed to note down the grocery requirements there, every Monday i call my supplier, read out the list, he delivers every thing at door step lol
Thanks for sharing

I do sometimes but I need to do it all the time because I am very forgetful when it comes to shopping. It takes one distraction to get my mind off of what I am getting. I can get a phone call from home telling me to not forget something and instead I actually forget what I went in the store for.

Zoe, same like you i only write shopping list whenever i do grocery shopping. If i go shopping for clothes, i don't do any listing at all. Because it is depending on my choice of pattern and sizes. If i can't found the same like what i want, then i won't buy any clothes at that time. I tried not to waste any of my money into any unwanted thing.

I make a menu for the week and then I shop by the menu.
Actually, what I do is ask Mom and the kids what ideas they might have for dinner for the following week (we eat no meat, so that is never on the shopping list). After I get their input, I check the cupboards to see what we have in the pantry and then I proceed to make the menu.
Sometimes I have to replace dried goods like beans because I like to make sure we always have all kinds of dried beans on hand. If anything happens that we can't get to the store for a couple of weeks, at least we'll have some beans to eat.
Once I have the menu, I will look it over and see what foods we need to get from the store. It works out really well. I've been doing this for a month, and although I don't have the food budget quite where I want it yet, we are getting there. It is getting better and I'm becoming better at making the menu.
Yes, it helps a lot to have a list when I go shopping. Today I only picked up two things not on the list (borax and yogurt for my Mom) I like making menus and shopping from the list and trying to save money. Soon I will have this down and will still have money leftover at the end of the month for the food budget.

I do manage a shopping list if I feel that I would be forgetting on things that I have planned to buy. but then, this doesn't happen very often as I do not go shopping much. But then, the list works best when I am going for the grocery shopping with my mom. When the list is big, we tend to leave out a few things here and there, so the list certainly works well for me in such situations.
