Cooking meals was considered as a job for women in the past in my hometown. But as society develops, it is becoming one of the must requirements for men. These days,I had to get up early to cook breakfast for my wife who was busy with her business. My cooking skill was not very good to cook delicious food for her.But she had to bear it because she had no time to complain.
It reminded me of my first cook for my family that took place about fifteen years ago.One day, both my parents had gone away to attend some meeting with our relatives.I had to cook luch for myself and prepare dinner for them.I can still remember it clearly. That evening, they hadn't returned yet,and I tried my best to cook something that could be eaten for them.I was quite nervous and busy with it.The result was not very bad,as they both approved it.But I still had put too much salt in the cabbages.
Do you cook meals for your family? How was your cook skills?

When I am alone in the home, I do the cooking for myself, but if my wife is at home, I do not cook because I am not a good chef in the kitchen for the family. Yet sometimes my wife has me do the cooking when she does not want to. I do not cook any meat, but vegetables only. I am a poor chef.

I cook for my children and myself. Before I had children, it was just me and my now ex husband. I made him a steak. with potato. My cooking has gotten better, but more improvements can be made. Its hard to tell by my kids though because like their dad was, they are very picky and dislike many kinds of food.

hi qianlizhifeng, i sincerely love cooking but cooking doesnt love me hahaha. But I never gave up trying. In our kitchen, my role is the after-care clean up in charge. How can i forget my first cook for my child for it makes me laugh all the time i remember it. I asked my child - "so, how's the taste Jan", and he think for 1 minute before he replied "hmmmmmm, almost edible mom but good". Hahaha, i know it was just an honest compliment but i never gave up trying and copying my husbands recipes :)

When I was still single and living with my parents, it has always been my mother who cooks our meals. I help sometimes, but cooking was never my favorite. When I got married, I was a bit apprehensive because I didn't think I could cook good. We had a guy helper who would do the cooking for us, since my husband and I were both working and had not much time for house chores. When this guy had to go back to their hometown due to an emergency, I had no choice but to get my azz in the kitchen. I asked for a recipe from my mother, and I was jittery doing it. Good thing, I'm a good follower and I guess my taste buds helped me a lot, too. My husband was really amazed with my cooking skills. He encouraged me to do more. My first cooking experiment for him was what we locally call "pork humba", it's pork stew with soy sauce, a little sugar, pepper corn and seasoning.
