Went to Urgent care yesterday as the toe next to the big one came up with what looked like a bruise.
and the pills didnt work at all stayed in pain most of the day.
anyhow they xrayed thefoot for they thought I might have broke some thing.
and as they can feel pulse inthe foot say that is ok flow going to the foot.
and as for the lump on the side of my foot DOc. said that is a superficial clot an to take a warm washloth the massage slowly and softly and that should break it up.
Just why no one else told me to do that gets me to wondering how wel they have nben trained huh?

I'm glad to hear that lump isn't anything big. That would greatly concern me. I went to the urgent care once, but my insurance doesn't cover it so they told me I had to go to the ER. I felt silly going to the ER for something that doesn't require "ER" importance.

WEll I had been telling the DOctors about it but they had sort of poo pooed it as nothing big but it was to me. any way cant figure out why home nurse had said any thing about hot compress and massage slowly to break it up and none of the other doctors did either.
BUt am releived that I can do something about it . well guess you have to go where ins will pay huh seems like they would want to pay less tho for going to urgent care oh well isn companiesdo what they want to

I don't know either Lakota, but glad you got the help you needed.
This reminds me f when I was diagnosed with tendinitis. The stupid doctor at first said to wear a brace only at night, then said to wear it while I work too. When she should have told me what my daughter was told, (daughter was diagnosed about a month later and saw a different doctor)that once the swelling goes down, to start stretching which she was shown how to do..
Then the same doctor's office was where I went when I got hit with 2 viruses and was only given a cortisone shot..I mean come on, I don't like shots or medicine, but I was left to believe it was nothing and I ended up sick for 3 weeks and that isn't counting the extra two weeks when I felt better, but still tired and my appetite wasn't good.
So I am considering finding another doctor..

WIththe raft of DOctors that has treaed me since Sept.
You wouuld think I would get a good one any way I have to a referal done to go to the Crdio I had in hospital grrrrrrrr thought he was in the group that my ins had for us.
and I dont think he signed me off as he wanted me back every three months to keep chck on me.
SO I might end up having to get anothr one that I know nothing about and I like this one!

It sounds as if they did not get any common sense. Of course I would not have thought about that, but then I am not a nurse.

That is true. It was probably something he learned when he was a child, because in his country, they did not go to the doctor unless it was very serious, so if you could fix it before then it saved you quite a bit of money.

I hope u get better soon. One of my favorite remarks is that u could go to ten different doctors in one day & everyone would tell u something different.U just don't know who knows what is right anymore.

What a relief huh? I know real pain when it is cold out. My hip hurts so badly. I have never known pain like that. We are a couple of soldiers aren't we?

Sister
Thanks for the details, let me hope you will be ok soon, doctors here also hide things, will make patients afraid, ask for this test or that just to extract money.

Hope the pain and your foot issue subsides soon. Now days it seems as if one has to ASK the Dr things, as they don't tell us much, like they did 20 yrs ago.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

If they dont listen or just poo poo stuff away thats nott eling us anything now this one DOc says use hot compress and massge lightly adn the home nurse I had the other day is so made that they didnt do a ultra sound on my foot for the red steak running up my toe hse seems to think there IS and obstrution in there somethweres.
and my primayry just reads what the other DOctors say and looks at foot and says oh yup its swollen ok lets find out WHY it is staying swollen for almost 10 weeks now! other foot swolled up like this but didnt last a week then I was fine and there was no pain with it
