A stranger inside the house

I remember this thing happened last December. Our store is closed and there are no parents outside waiting for their children in school. Our house is quiet and only me and my mother are inside. My mother is washing clothes below and I am busy on my computer upstairs. The living room has no people around and we have a large window where someone can enter even if the door is locked. Upstairs I did feel someone come up stairs and I did see her shorts, I thought it was my mother so I asked her what's the problem but then she did not answer so it's seems creepy for me then I hurried downstairs and did not see anyone in the stairs and then I descended and then I'm surprised to find an old lady, stranger inside our house. I asked what she needs, she said she just wants some water. I was so shocked that I want to push her outside the house right away. I told her to go outside first and knock on the door to the kitchen to ask for water so my mother got to see her face to face. Then, I told my mother immediately that the lady has gotten upstairs but she could not believe, she goes up and she does not seem to listen so we lost precious time to interrogate the lady. Nothing is lost or stolen, but it was scary to find intruders inside our house. Have you experienced such thing?

Hi averygirl72, it's awesome that someone had entered our house without our knowledge Fortunate that you didn't lose anything. Even though the old lady just wanted to request some water, anyway it's rude to go in other's house without permission. One morning few years back I found my sandals in my doorway was disappeared. It's weird that we have fence and gate but didn't get it locked. The following evening an old pair of sandals also in white was found outside the bedroom window. At sight of it I knew that someone had come in got the new pair of sandals changed. Until now I don't know who was that culprit Happy posting

I have the same feeling as well. I'm afraid that the unknown person would come again and do something worse after she had replaced her old pair of slippers or stolen my new pair successfully

I would be more nervous if I did not see the person who comes inside the house without our awareness.

No intruders but this maid who worked for us for 9 years loyally and then left after getting married robbed us . We had spent huge sums on her marriage. She did it under the advice of her wicked husband! She used to occasionally come and help us out.

That is so wicked. How will you punish those people?

Punishing that kid who did so much for me? God will have forgiven her but her husband will pay for it. I will not punish him but God will.

I am sure that lady is not in her right mind, or she could be actually a thief. Either way, it would be a scary experience. It would be worse if it's a man. Women don't usually do anything harmful, but it's men who are scary.

First if the person is mentally ill, I am in sure danger. If it is a man with weapon more dangerous. She does not look healthy. She could be a thief and is doing that for many times.

That was creepy! Good thing nothing happened to you and your mom. Fortunately, nothing like that has ever happened in our house. And if it did, I'd probably freak out!

You can freak out but it's better to be just calm and relax.

Wow,if someone just need the water then he or she will never go to upstairs but unfortunately you two lost the precious time to interrogate this old lady, but anyhow you do not lose anything. But this accident give you two a lesson, and you should do some defense stuff to your big window.

We now always close the door when no one is downstairs to make sure no one will come again through the window.

That is very creepy and I totally agree with you. Lately we have been leaving our back door open as the house design in our neighbourhood leaves it unbearably hot at times if both doors arent open for ventilation. And we've been noticing things in our kitchen have been missing. My stepdad is an army man so he laid a trap, and when it turns out, our neighbor was standing by our kitchen door one day just standing there and he proceeded to talk her up until she left knowing she had gotten in is trap. Idk what he did but he told us she isn't coming to do that for a while.

Good thing is our neighbors are not like that and no one enters the house without permission.

Wow, that is definitely creepy! I have never experienced something like that, and definitely hope that I never do - it would really scare me to find a stranger wandering around the house! Thank goodness she didn't do anything dangerous or take anything from you. I can't believe someone would have the nerve to just walk right in like that, and especially to say they just wanted water, as if that's not that odd. Yikes! It really makes me wonder if that woman was mentally unwell or something. It just doesn't seem like something a sane person would do!

What is actually creepy is her face. I see she looks dirty, old, skinny, sick and looks like a witch. She looks mentally ill but she seems wise too. When I get near her she started to cough and cough like she is so sick. She moves very fast too.

oh, this situation is almost similar to a new post asking what to do seeing not a stranger but a thief inside the house. thank God we haven't experienced this. i wouldn't know what to do if ever. the old lady probably is ill (has dementia or alzheimer's). if that's the case, then what a pity!

I've never had the experience of having a stranger inside our house when we are home. However, it was just a few months ago that my husband called me when he got home and asked me why I had gone through his bedside table and left everything on the bed. I hadn't done it and neither had our children. It was clear to us that there had been someone in our house. Well, a couple weeks later when I was gone and my best friend and the kids were at home this little boy from up the street tried to come into our house through the back window in the office. It turns out that he was the one that had been in the house and he was looking for my husband's pistol so he could steal it.

Sounds like she has more than some water in mind... That does seem rather strange. Some years back we were selling our house and a lady with her two kids came to see. They looked like a decent nice family, but after they left we found out a hand phone in our house was missing.

Right, she might be looking for cell phones or any valuable things she can quickly steal but she did not take anything as far as we know when we check all our belongings.

Yes, I also experienced that when I was still in elementary grade. I was left with my baby brother in the house. I don't remember where my parents were that moment. In the province, our doors are usually opened and its normal. It was noon time when suddenly a dirty old man got in in our house and went straight ahead in our kitchen. He was looking for food. I thought that old man was mentally retarded because as I was asking him, he ignored me and his telling words that I did not understand. So I asked help with our other neighbor to pushed away the old man. I got scared also and I ran fast to where my baby brother was.

Scary! Good thing she didn't disappear, kidding aside if will think the same way her actions won't define of intruding someone's place my personal opinion she must have other agenda aside from asking for some water looks like an alibi. I remember when someone also went inside the house when I left the front door open since I went to my room to get my house's keys and I heard the noise inside the kitchen when I checked and I bought baseball bat with me just to be sure, I saw our fridge open and it was only my sister eating my chocolates. ha ha good thing not an intruder. but I learned my lesson always secure to close the door when no one is around
