It would be lovely were I named after some person but not I'm named " Shasta" after a darned beverage. No idea where the name originates from.
There is a younger cousin named after me. Never met her.

@ prashu228, I think it was you who asked about something about why I got my name. Sorry I couldn't answer yet because I made double posts by mistake and had reported that one to be removed before you asked me.
Anyway, my dad said that my mom was drinking a Shasta cola and thought it would make a pretty name, so I became Shasta. He said he wasn't there because he had to work and he would have named me something else.
He had considered something like Margaret or Peggy.
Margaret, I would have liked,. Peggy is too close with "Piggy". People would have probably teased me worse with a name like that.

Only my middle name was given to me after my great grandmothers name. My mother was really close with her grandmother and she was the only person in her family that she was close to so she gave me her first name as my middle name.

My name came from a small book. There is a list of baby's names and its meaning. my name means 'grace' and that is why my mom chose that name for me.

No my name is not named after anyone like my aunt etc. But my daddy had kept my name as Roshan means Rays of Light, since I am the eldest child in the family.

I'm Named after the Lover's Paris and Helen of Troy. Paris specifically. However people who don't know the meanings of their own names like to tell me I have a girl's name -_- When it is clearly unisex... since I a GUY has it. and further, it's what all the males that came before me are named.
