Since my kids are waking up early, i have been rewarding them with nice breakfasts that they will love..
these past few days i gave them cereal with milk ( in Philippines it is rare for us to have breakfast with cereal).. then i made some garlic rice and meatloaf, then some chorizo's and eggs..
but i want to have those for kids, maybe some new varities..was thinking of ways to incorporate veggies in the morning? ones that will make the kids eat them as well as anticipate them? i have been mixing corn kernels in the garlic rice too.. i am running out of ideas.

What about Tinapa dipped in tomatoes ? Do they like it too as viand in the morning, jazel?
I used to think of various breakfasts too, when our daughter was in her elementary days. But so far, the most that she likes that time was hotdog , pancake and cornflakes.

i am not sure my daughter will eat it as she is picky when it comes to fruits but i might try some ripe mangoes..as for my 5 year old it might work for them too as he is very into fruits.

a pleasant day jazel_juan,
that was superb. you are really a super mom that should also be given an award. what you are doing is not an ordinary one but an extra ordinary. well, for sure, you have have great kids since you are a great mom. with that of your query, perhaps, you can also prepare a special fried rice aside from the garlic rice that you used to served. anyway, i believed, your instinct will guide you as you go along the day of preparing for their breakfast. wishing to have a great ideas and tips from you dear.

You could do roasted root vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes and beets. Just drizzle them with a bit of olive oil and roast them; they are naturally sweet and delicious and should appeal to your kids.
Since you are already doing involved breakfasts, perhaps quiche or mini pizzas? Either would be nice for breakfast, and you can easily include a variety of vegetables and/or fruit in them.
Breakfast burritos stuffed with eggs, beans and veggies and topped with sour cream and salsa (more veggies and fruit!) would also be good.

I could not experiment that much like the way that you do. Coz my kids really have rice for breakfast everyday. If I offer them pancakes, they would be feeling hungry again in a hour. Same with cereals, they're tummies would be grumbling after an hour or so.
Have you tried serving them with crab omelet or Cinnamon toasts? My kids love them as well.

Hey. I'm from the Philippines too and I want to commend you for your good taste in food. The food you are giving them will make them proud of their heritage and culture, at the same time they can sample and experiment with different cuisines. You can safely explore your culinary interests with the kids. Give them something that is easy to prepare and fun to munch on. Give them fruit and vegetables in the morning, easy no-nonsense preparation food is fine. Know what they like to eat and mix and match recipes. Dairy is a good food staple, especially for growing children. Give them the advantage also of growth food. It's for them too.

Well, you had a very different idea for a breakfast for your children.
I must say that my breakfast in the morning, is quite simple.
In fact, it is limited to a croissant and a coffee. Nothing more.
You know, I'm a few pounds overweight, which is why I try to keep myself in very light meals.
I must say that for me it is impossible, just imagine eating meat in the morning for breakfast.
