Things from Anime that disturbs me

I love anime but there are things that kinda dirturb watching them nowadays.
1.Cousin romances- Yeah i know cousin marriage is legal and accepted in Japan but I am from a culture that is not into it. so I find it disturbing to watch anime characters who are kissing cousins.
2. Underage panty shots- When i was a kid, I do admit I like seeing panty shots when i watch sailormoon but I was a kid then and Sailormoon characters are like 16 to 18. I am 27 now, I dont really mind legal aged teenage panty shots but I notice any anime producers puts pantyshots in characters who havent reached puberty yet, its disturbingly pedophile like.
3.Villains who wants to destroy the world for no reason, I prefer villains who have a a tragic backstory on why they became evil not randomly evil cliche villains and not evil since birth villains.
4. Summoning monsters to attack your opponent in a martial arts tournament- that is freaking unfair.
5.Little kid as the leader of the group- yeah Goku is a overpowered as a kid but he dont act as a leader in the early days of Dragonball, I hate seeing kid characters acting like know it all leaders and they have adults as sidekicks.
6. disfunctional families- Siblings who wants to kill each other, The villain of the story is the Father of the protagonist and so and so on.
7. Underage female characters with adult boyfriends- Sailor-moon is 16 when she dated her boyfriend who is like 20.
8.abusive girlfriends/female love interest- After rescuing your girlfriend from the evil monsters, instead of givng you a kiss , she will slap your face and punch you to the sky,

Í'm gonna go with when every female character has boobs the size of the Good year blimp
The drawn out " EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH??"
The Heroine that always needs saving.
Why do so many anime characters look the same as characters from other animes?
So much yelling
Anime recaps at the beginning of ever darned episode
Naruto. As in the character. Not the show in itself.
Bloody nose gysers
The use of honorifics such as san, chan, kun, sama etc., in English subtitles. They just assume everyone knows what they mean. I used to think it was the persons family name. Like "Wow, there sure are a lot of Samas in Japan."

I would never guess her as 15. Looks like a grown woman, but shes suppose to be the bubble head type. Of course in anime that means over grown knockers and squeaky voice.

Speaking of female characters with enormous melons. I remember how this character is disturbing, the character in the picture below is suppose to be 15 years old, I dont think 15 year olds have boobs like that.
LOL about the Kuns and chans, they confuse me in the beginning as well but then i realized that in my country, Big brothers and male cousins slightly older than me will be called "Kuya(insert his name)" then big sisters and female slightly older me are called "ate (insert her name. BTW its pronounced as Ah-teh)"

I love anime, but I easily accept what is in their culture. I open my mind in scene that is not familiar to me and so, I do not care at all and I do not judge at all. I think anime aims in reality, like you said, it is also based on culture. Unlike other cartoons, they based on imaginations aiming for kids. Some of it. Anime is somewhat a reality based. Some people are liberated in mind you know and so, they also adapt and produce anime in a reality based though there some of it is fiction like too much expression. Some is make believe so they make it real on anime, which can't happen in real life because there are lots of forbidden in a real world.
..and about abusive girlfriends/female love interest it shows female overpowering men. That is why most anime shows are mostly feminists.
How I wish you understood what I written here. This is according to my knowledge. I think Japan is more a matriarchy society. I am not so sure about it rather here in Philippines. It is more on patriarchy.

Though some of 2d and 3d animation from Japanese shows somewhat a feminist type [not all of them], well, in a story plot, they have to put those things to make it more creative and beautiful. If they would not put that kind of thing, the story would be nonsense and of course, they still know what audience would watch and what they would like in anime and so, they target for the audience too.
They mixed it with romance, feminist, rescue thing for the audience and not only just for the audience, but for the adult as well. Mostly anime is not for kids. They aim for teens and adults and some is for reality based-- generally. Though some anime mixed with fictions and fantasy, they mixed that kind of thing to make it profitable and to make money.
This is another reason that those parents that have kids want their children watch Disney and american cartoons while some teens, adults or some liberal minded in our modern days watch anime because american cartoons and Japanese is very different when it comes to targeting audience. People have different taste when it comes to "animation" you know.

If its feminist, those girls should be able to protect their selves and wont need to be rescued. also they should not be rude to a guy who just rescued them.

All of those things are disturbing. It is a good reason not to encourage our youngsters to follow that type of entertainment.

If you think that is disturbing, there are also some other disgusting genre of anime, Like Guro, which is derived from the English term gore. Then they have the tentacle rape hentai,I dont know why this is popular in Japan, its basically monsters with tentacles that rapes teenage girls.

bear in mind that not all anime are necessarily for children so you should be selective in what they watch. Cartoons aren't made for kids anymore, some of them have very adult themes.

Hi Capt! Wow, it's been a lot of years since I've watched any anime. It's certainly changed. I agree with you. I don't like those points you brought up either. And then you have people walking around saying "What's wrong with kids today?" It sounds like anime is going downhill. Too bad. It's a great art form and use to be really good entertainment.

I remember how TV networks abused Voltest V, whenever we are so close to the ending, they will replay it back to episode 1. I started watching th show during 1990's I was like toddler then but I still remember everything, I always hope they will let me watch the ending but whenever its about to end they replay it back.
Then I get to watch the ending when I was 16 . I hate those Tv Networks.

Mavic, yes, the Capt always has a good discussion. I never watched a lot of anime, I didn't have much time for it when I had cable. But what I watched I really liked. Maybe it was early stuff, like Dragonball and Cowboy Bebop. Not sure if Cowboy was even considered anime. There was another one but I can't remember the name of it. I just really like the artwork and the hair. I liked the storyline of DB.
Capt, I don't know the ones you're talking about but I think one of these days if I ever have any spare time again, I will start looking this stuff up and watching some of it. I don't like TV networks but for a lot of different reasons.

I love anime when I was a kid and I still watch some of them even now. On my own experience, I never thought about any effects from it's content, for me it's merely for entertainment because mostly animes are more fun to watch than drama series by real actors. We can see that anime characters are exaggerating their actions and reactions even their own characters and it's funny to watch but I never take them seriously. So maybe others would hopefully do the same, just watch for entertainment and stop comparing it to our own lives. Separate reality from anime.

I dont remember seeing any panty shot in sailor moon , and I was watching it just the other day . from start to finish but I also dont understand why she had an adult boyfriend . It was romantic and everything but the age is a bit off .
I dont like seeings panty shot of kids in anime either and when there are some adult pervert trying to look at their panties . I also dont like to see anime without boobs in romantic encounters, I find that weird .
What I do like in others are the one with fighting actions

More like Adult men in Japan loves young girls instead of grown women. Because ost Young girls in Japan, think prefer skinny teen boys with feminine features. They sorta like the innocent and charm teenagegirls have. Thats why there is a schoolgirls groping clubs in Japan.

It has never occurred to me that Mamoro was older than Sailormoon. Maybe back then, that kind of romance was famous, many young girls admire mature men... even until now. I don't think age matters... as long as sailormoon is above 18 years old.

The last one was annoying. The others were disturbing.
I think Japanese audience are into these kind of anime so they make it because it sells! It's creepy, those incest stories... they scare me. In genetics, it's not ideal to mate with someone closely related, it will mess up the future generation. I'm not quite sure why that is.

It is also because some of them are culturally oriented. I mean sometimes they do not care what people say to them as long as they show what culture they have in their own country. They have pride showing what culture they have and they do not care if other countries are disturb on anime or not, because that is their culture. It depends on each country if they would accept it or not. Some people in other countries become curious and become interested in Japanese culture and so, some anime fans were influenced and were been attracted in that kind of genre in society.
It depends on individual of what mostly interest them. Some were attracted to an american cartoons and some were attracted to Japanese anime. Its difficult to compare the two because both "animation" have "pros" and "cons" in our society.

because of focusing too much with the Japanese audience, they were losing the international audience who makes the industry a billion dollar industry. so they [refer the million yen they will earn domestically over the million dollars they can earn internationally. Many people already dumped anime for American cartoons.

While anime has always been a large influence in my life, there are patterns within anime that I have noticed and disliked. For instance, why is there always an overly dramatic reaction from girls who either confess to the guy they like or get asked about the guy they like? I don't think girls in Japan are that shy about relationships that they always blush and occasionally stutter when talking about it. Also, why do the tsundere girl characters always end up liking either the male main character? It also seems like it's a bit cliche to let the good characters always win in the end. For me, it's too predictable. It might make the anime more depressing, but at least it's a bit different. I have watched some anime titles that the good characters lost with possibly losing a lot of comrades, but there's still too many titles where good characters always win in the end.

I really wont mind good characters winning n the end, I am just sick that most of the new anime are about sexualized girls who are not even teenagers yet. I mean there is an anime where one of the characters is like 12 years old but she have big boobs. That anime is suppose to be for kids.

That may be a close-minded opinion of a lot of objects which aren't that disturbing at all. Why do you dislike cousin marriages? Is it because everybody else says it's not good? Underage panty shots are for the creators to earn more. They don't care if the panty shots are from a kid, they do that so more pedophiles would watch their series.
Villains who destroy the world for no reason don't make sense, but you see them in cartoons too. As for summoning monsters, the maker of the anime decides what to do with the tournament. Find something else to watch, maybe?
The "little kid", as you put it, was WILLINGLY followed. Why care if it's an adult or another kid? Even Artemis Fowl has an adult following him, it's not just anime that does that. Dysfunctional families are a way to make the story seem more dramatic, thus gaining them more people who watch their show.
The Sailormoon example wasn't really convincing. That was an age gap of 4 years. If Sailormoon was 25 and her boyfriend 29 would you really get bothered by it?
Abuse: that one I agree with, unfortunately. :)
