Yesterday, as Wednesday, as they promise on the online order status, the Mac Mini I ordered from Apple store finally delivered to my front door. I didn't go anywhere after work, and eagerly drove home in hurry to check this new machine. It is neat and small in comparison to other computer tower. The only catch is I got this HDMI to DVI cable, and it won't fit other monitors I have at home, because they all got the VGA cable, or connector. Then I just have to go to Microcenter to check out other new monitor with the DVI cable come with it. When I got to the store, and explain to the sales representative what I look for, we have to spend 1 and half hours there to look for the monitor that really come with the DVI cable, and the price must be right. What a excruciating task for that day. And I also purchase a new USB keyboard and USB mouse for it. When I got home to hook up everything, it was perfect. Although it is a refurbished machine, I don't see anything wrong with it. I might need to spend some time to get the hang of Macintosh, since it is my first time use it. I felt that I start like to use Mac.

I, too, recently acquired a Mac mini. My mom bought it for me. But unlike you, we didn't buy a new monitor.
I got a hdmi to dvi cable out of the box as well. We already have a monitor in the house so we bought the mini port display to VGA cable thing and it's much cheaper(and less hassle) than buying a new monitor. It's sold in apple's online store or any of the apple resellers out there.

I really prefer windows-based computers over mac. The flexibility and range of services of windows is superior than mac. But I guess all these will change as tablets and smartphones are rising quickly on the market. It's only a matter of time before they overthrow windows and mac from their top positions.
