I really would like to thank the creator of social networking.
I had studied at 3 differnt countries and had friends at different locations.
Calling my school and college friends and keeping in touch with them was not possible due to lack of time, money, interest.
But with the fun filled social networking sites present today, i am able to keep touch with them and could know all about their updates with a one touch.
Thanks to all sites for making this world shorter place and keeping bonds unbroken.

Big things came since I can remember. And indeed having all these social networking sites have bridged the gap between lost friends and relatives. I am very thankful myself for having the means to get in touch with my close friends whom I had been sort of "out of the circle" for more than 10 years.

Exactly! And who knows? You might just rekindle an old flame after seeing him/her in Facebook, right?

Well i feel social networking is the last step to get back you old and missed friends.
Whom you never thought of until the social networking arrived.
It gets back old memories and makes me happy

Yes , and that is true that it helps to maintain our friendships.
And people cant make excuses for the large amount of money need to maintain friendships through calls.

SOcial networking has provided us with a great way for us to stay in contact with our friends and family. As we grow older and move farther apart from our loved ones it becomes much harder to stay in contact with them. I don't think that cell phones quite give us that service because we don't always have time to talk on the phone in our busy days.
I think that social networking is great because we can leave messages for our friends and we can do it while we are taking care of other things on the internet. I just wish I was better at social networking because I just find it kind of hard to stay in contact with people on websites such as facebook.

I feel the same that we can balance are our life to maximum and still be in contacts with loved ones.
Phones are way expensive and increases proportionally to the distance.
With networking you can drop message to them and wait for them to reply.
But in case of emergency you do have to call them.

Yes and thanks to technology, we are able to connect w/ people worldwide. Through social online networking, we greet each other, be informed and learn a lot. There are, however, people using this technology to swindle and fool others; these I hate so much.

You are absolutely right,
Downside is this people can be fooled easily, particularly if they have not met face to face
If you are trying to make new friends, just be aware of trusting the new persons.

Welcome to Mylot,Gopalisat!
That's a positive way of using social networking sites. Keeping in touch with our friends, relatives abroad and love ones is a breeze because of facebook, myspace and the likes. I never lost touch with my childhood friends who immigrated in other countries because of facebook. I was also able to locate long lost friends through this site. As long as we use social networking sites positively it will not do us any harm.

That's dam right, thanks to these social networking sites who played an important role in holding friends. i remember when i completed intermediate education and i left my college, i and my friends were thinking as to how would we be able to meet again in future...finally we decided we can hope that we meet again. we never knew that these social networking sites would allow us to meet again. i have recently found that few of my friends are married in US while others are in UK. some are, however, still in pakistan. I know all this because of social networking sites. they also update us from the latest news around the world. thanks starting a discussion.

Really thanks for your appreciation on starting this thread.
I feel like friends can be reached anytime even when they are far apart.
We can find lots of interests, their activities and updates about peoples also.

Yes, optimum use of social networking sites is a boon in many cases. We just have to make sure that we do not exceed our limits and overdo things. We need to keep total time in check. However, excess time on these sites could be counter-productive too.

I agree with optimum use of social networking. We should be able to manage our time efficeintly and in the oceans of socail networking we should never forget our important and day to day task.
But there is no harm in spending extra little free time over it, if it cures youre boredom.
Damn this ropic is so delicate
