Men and their looks

I swear my husband is more obsessed with his appearance then I am. Shouldn't it be the girl who is like this. It takes him way longer to get ready. I have to take him for yet another hair cut this morning. Seems he is wanting to go every couple of weeks now. I never get my hair done. I think it has been 2 years since I last went to get my hair cut at a salon.

Haha! How sweet of you to understand him. Yes I think your husband is really taking too much time for his looks and I know some men who are like him also. Maybe these men care too much about their outside appearance, that is why. I just hope you don't quarrel about this thing.

Hi friend, most of the girls are very much interested in their personality and go to the beauty parlor frequently, surprised to know that you don't even don hair cute for around 2 years, really you are different

Men these days are just as conscious as girls. I have noticed my eldest son to be that, too. I sometimes get mad at him coz it takes me just 5 minutes to dress up and put some light make-up on my face and he takes 15-30 minutes! Anyway, don't put yourself behind looking great. Do treat yourself once in a while.

That's odd compared to the other side of the spectrum. On New Year's my boyfriend and I went to a party. While I was already dressed, it took him forty minutes just to find his nice pair of pants. Our ride was waiting for us and I felt so embarrassed when he had to explain how he had to get ready. It wasn't that formal, either. Everyone was in casual dress. I totally don't get it.

Short Haircuts - ...on a man, have to be regularly trimmed...
I think it depends; some guys are very appearance conscious, I know I was when younger, I loved my clothes, and was perhaps a little on the over flashy side in terms of clothes, hair, jewellery. At the same time when I was younger, my mother used to sometimes get at my dad in an effort to make him more clothes conscious. He didn't seem bothered about that, but he was always neat and clean. My brother is a smart dresser; but unlike the younger me, he's not flashy; he dresses styishly and conservatively. But he has some beautiful clothes; and his lustrous hair always looks wonderful. As for me today, I still love clothes, but I don't have the kind of access to cash I did when younger; I rarely buy clothes, and I'm ashamed to say the last time I had my hair cut, I'd not had it cut for about a year: it was pretty long; but the hairdresser gave me a beautiful short cut, which is going to have to last me! But if I had the money, I'd be more like your husband, although I'd not have a haircut every two weeks, because I'm too much on the lazy side. But I would say that if a man wants to look his best, I mean Daniel Craig as James Bond best, then getting his hair cut every two weeks is as I see it a good move. In the novel "The Great Gatsby", Jay Gatsby is described as having hair which looked like it was cut every day, words to that effect. So, basically if a man is going to have a smart short style, frequent haircuts are as I see it necessary. On the other hand, long styles don't have to be seen to all that often! Last time I got mine done, it was long at the back, over my ears and hanging long in my eyes...but I couldn't wait to get my hair cut nice and short!

my hubby is not like that at all but i once knew a guy like that. appearance was everything to that couple (including car and house, etc) and hubby and i have a nephew like that too and i know some of my 19 year old daughter's friends are definitely like that for sure though. But you are right, it is sort of weird for a guy.

For me women are more vain that men but when it comes to hair cut it's a different story. Men often have their hair cut than women because it's always nice to look at a guy with short hair or clean cut as opposed to men with long hair. However, there are other men that look good with long hair too! I don't see a lot of long-haired man that looks good though, only a few. I've also noticed that men's hair really grow faster. Few of my skin-head friends normall go to barber shops 3-4 times in a month. That's a lot. Most women like to wear their hair long so getting a hair cut doesn't cross the mind that much. Other women sometimes complain why their hair grow so slow. Well, this is how I see it. Other than hair cut women normally takes up more time than men especially when it comes to dressing up. :D

There are men who love vanity more than women. I know some of them, some of my friend's husband who spend more time in front of the mirror than their wives. Husbands who apply different skin lotion, colognes, conditioner and a lot more more than their wife do... :p

It would be weird for me, too. But my boyfriend is not a really fashionable type. He's not untidy, but he uses the usual stuff: shampoo, shaving cream, after shave, scented deodorant, soap... that's it. It would be weird if he spent more time in the bathroom as me, because I like pampering myself... body lotion, hair oils for the split ends, make-up, perfumes, all that jazz...

Hahaha! Don't be surprised there's a lot of men out there like your husband, my nephew is like that he even used some of our stuff like powder, lotion and baby cologne, he also like his haircut done once a month. I think there's nothing wrong with taking care of oneself either a man or a woman.
