This is one horrifying but also fascinating story. I have been hearing about it in the states for some time off and on but we are getting more today. For those who do not know, Jimmy Savile was a famous British personality. He was honored by the Queen as well as the late Pope Paul XII. He did charity and humanitarian work. It has turned out that he was a predator and a rapist. He has abused and or raped more than 500 people, mostly females. Some were very young. Many were in hospice care or hospital care. There were rumors for some time but reports have now been issued with the terrible truth of this sociopath. He groomed a whole nation as one observer noted. I have personal interest in stories such as this. I find it shocking, as well as amazing, what these types of personalities do. He used his celebrity to victimize helpless people. In the name of helping others, he exploited them. Victims did come forward while Savile was alive to report the abuse but no one believed them or cared. He is now dead and never has to face justice. He also went to his grave adored and idolized. We are so easily duped by those with charismatic personalities. I have been.

Its my surmise, those who neglect their families for doing charities are more likely to be of that type. These people go about painstakingly establishing reputation for themselves, and make others obliged to them. Once everybody develops a high opinion of them, it then becomes difficult for the victim to prove much against such a person simply because people view the issue in a biased way. They feel that somebody is trying to gain fame unscrupulously. So I am generally wary of people whom the world calles "good" and "kind".

I have read that this Jimmy Saville groomed a nation. That is how it was put. I have been around many people in my life who were very important in the eyes of others and held in high regard. While I have found that these persons often did much good, I have also known them to do some bad. No one is perfect. However, there are also those persons who seek reputations of being very kind, nice and good SO as to take advantage of and exploit others. That is what I call evil.

It is always hard to believe what some abusers and predators are able to get away with. They can be manipulative and cunning people.

So much for high society. This has been going on fro ages now and some churches are the most shameful as young children get sexually abused by priests. Whys practice abstinence when you need not. Basic instincts can never be suppressed.

What a sick person. I just feel pity for his victims. It just irritates me knowing that people use very alluring 'fronts' just to be able to do their 'devilistic' activities. These people are real crazy.

You have said it very well, better than I could. Sociopaths and con artists are often very good at using alluring fronts so as to do their evil and devilish activities. They are really evil and terrifying people. It is one thing to be bad and do bad things but it is quite another to pretend to be caring and a humanitarian so as to exploit others.

This will really prove that we should not just trust in peoples appearance and looks because these things can be very deceiving. I hope this will bring a lesson to people who are easily taken away by other people's outside appearance.

Your facts are a little wrong - The police report was published today and it conclude3d that he abused around 200 and he has not been accused of any rapes.

Not from what I am reading. I have read many reports being issued today or recently. I am reading around 500 or so victims which includes rape. I have read more than one story.
