I am a father of 1 year kid and my daughter started crawling and walking (though she falls every now and then). It is really difficult to take her pictures because she keeps on moving/falling all the time.
So whats the best way to take quality pictures of 1 year kid.
BTW as per my wife I can not take her pictures while she is sleeping, some silly superstition she believes in...
I have a canon powershot G12 camera.

Hi,
May I know if your camera have the AEL button and spot metering function? If you have these 2 function, then you can use it to take good photos.
1. Change metering mode to Spot Metering.
2. Hold your camera and position your focus on your kid's face and hold AEL button.
3. Press capture.
Personally, I think that the photo taken using this method can give great results.

Hi ketanm,
From your answer of sdas86 question, I guess you are not too deep with photography. I've been seen the spesification of your camera (canon powershoot G12), and that camera have mode M, Av dan Tv. Now, I try to explain how you should do that mode for taking picture of your daughter :)
To capture the object that move fast, you must use high speed on your camera. For this condition I guess you must use 1/60 - 1/100 second.
I recommended you use mode Av. Set the diafragma ( f value ) into maximum, for your camera use f/2,8 and let see how speed that appears on your display. The camera will automatically set the speed. If the speed lower than 1/60 second, please change your ISO setting, please set between ISO 500 until ISO 800 and the speed will change as your change the ISO value. The ISo not must fix from 500 until 1000 but please use ISO that make your speed between 1/60 until 1/100.
Second way, you can use Tv mode. Set the speed on 1/60 until 1/100 and let the camera atomatically change the diafragma value. Please change your ISO like when you use Av mode to make ideal apperture to shoot.
Last, you can use M mode. This mode is manual mode, you can change the speed, diafragma and ISO manually. For best condition to shoot yu can see indicator apperture on your camera display.
The point is, to shoot the moving object you must use with higher speed than the object moves.
I hope my explanation can help you.
