Do you always get your salary on time?

I was on queue at the ATM a couple of hours back to withdraw some cash I needed for a very important purchase. While on queue, the two people behind me were talking to each other about how disappointed they are about how delayed their salary was deposited to their payroll account. One of them mentioned about having to loan money from her sister because she needed the money for her medicines and have to pay her sister the soonest possible time. I have never experienced this and I hope my employer will never do that to us.

Since I have been working for quite a number of companies, some employers are very punctual and even early payment. Some are really calculative, they pay on exactly the last day of the month and in late afternoon so the cheque would not cleared in time till another two working days. There are cases where some colleagues have to borrow money to pay their rental. A good employer should always think for their employees welfare.

Compensation is usually the issue of every organization including the mode and time of payment. Anyway, we have the Labor Code the guide on when to give the salaries of employees. If our employers do not follow those simple rules, then the DOLE is very much willing to help us. Employees will be protected anyway if they will visit DOLE. This is one thing that employers should look into because salary may be is the motivation of employees. If these continuously happens, turnover rate may increase and lower productivity may increase as well. The image of the organization can also be destroyed. This may result in difficulty in acquiring talents for the organization.

I experienced that when i was in the Philippines. My salary got delayed for a couple of days and sometimes a week. Then my salary never came anymore. My employer ran away. I was ok though and never really got into depression. Maybe because i considered my work as just a hobby and the money i got there was really not the source of my breathing. Here in Thailand, most Filipino teachers here are suffering from 3-5 months salary delayed.

I am so lucky to have the salary put on my checking account on the 15th of every month, sometimes even two days earlier so no worries about my finances.......

Fortunately, I have been with 4 different companies and I have never experienced our salary getting delayed. If it's just going to be delayed for a couple of hours, that's okay, I can cope with that.

I never found my salary is delayed to be deposited to my account. But it is often happened to my friends who work in different company. The delay of paying salary is not good for the company's reputation. It will make the company hard to get good workers.

My husband and I are both on government related disability benefits in our own countries, and these come on certain days of the month. I get my Canadian one on the last business day of the month, and he gets his two American ones one on the first, and the other one on the 3rd. This is the same every month.

I have actually experienced this a few times. It never bothered me because I don't live pay check to pay check so I always have enough in my account to cover whatever I need.

I have several times can not get my salary on time. It usually happens around the holidays. If the salary day located in the holiday, I can always find that I have to wait to the next workday to get my money, while I usually prefer to spend my money during the holiday.

Once I had a boss who said my pay check might not clear. He said he would cover it if something bounced. Big problem. I wrote about 20 checks on it. I told him that. He was shocked at the thought of paying about $40 for each bounce. He manage to get the money to cover my check. I don't know about the other workers, but mine was good.

Hi dolce, I do not work so I do not get any kind of salary. But my dad is Indian government servant and he gets his pay on 1st of every month. But in practise it always gets delayed. Sometimes even by two weeks or so. I remember once he got his salary for 3 months together because the dept didnt pay anyone for two months in their branch because of some goof up in pay roll.

Sure, I always get my salary on time. Tomorrow is 14th of January and I will be getting my 15th pay of this month a day before January 15. Our company is generous to give us ahead of time?

Well, sadly there are many people who face that issue. And i guess its global thing.I am aware of one multinational airline company who has not paid their employees for over 7 months and has gone bankrupt. Its sad situation. In my case, well i did face delays of few days with one of the organisations i worked with.Sometimes its tough with credit payments and other payments due. There were 2-3 months, were the salary was credited after a week's delay.Plus the first salary i received from them was going to be postponed by 2 months. But luckily got them in last working day on the next month.Working in those conditions are at times tough as these will raise doubts on our future as well as on our employment.I left that organisation in 7 months though they were paying their employees even if there was a small delay in salaries at times. Luckily i am with an organisation who pays in time. And that is one of the reason i am looking to associate job opportunities with known brands. It would secure your life and other things. You would know for sure you will get salary on the mentioned date and in time. Thanks!

oh luckily our company gives us our salary on time, usually even a day before the supposed date of us receiving the salary. I guess i am lucky to be employed in such a company that values their employee's hardwork. i have not worked for small companies, so i really have not experienced being paid late.

Yes, so far I have, at every place where I've worked. I don't always get the salary on the same day though, but my employer has promised that we will always get paid before a certain date (when rents and other such bills are usually taken from accounts in the country where I live), and as far as I know, the payment has never been late so far.

I never got that kind of problem, so lucky me. If that too often, should talk to the employer
