I can't believe how bad the flu season is this year. On are news station it has said that there has been 18 deaths related to the flu and 15 of them are young children, this is so sad. Alot of people I know are refusing to get the flu shot because they know that people that have gotten the shot are still getting sick with it. I myself have gotten the flu shot because I'm required to due to my medical condition and so far I been lucky not to catch it. And where I work they require us to get the flu shot to help protect us from getting sick when working around patients but I don't see how it will protect us because either way were still going to get sick. I think that's why I'm sick alot because I'm around sick patients all day long but I do sanitize daily and go to the bathroom constantly washing my hands. Whats your take on the flu shot? Do you get it or do you refuse? Is there flu related deaths where you live?

Yes, I have been listening to the news about the severity of flu season this year. I am glad that I have received my flu shot. I think it's just better to be safe than sorry. For the most part, I think it's good to get the shot in order to have a better chance at fighting against the flu.

It's scary how bad the flu season is. I keep waiting for an announcement that it's a super-strain of the flu or something, but no. It sounds like it's just the regular strains of the flu we see every year.
I went ahead and got my flu shot last week. Even if I get sick anyway, it's good to know I've got some line of defense against it. I figured it could only help, not hurt, so it would be worth it.

The flu here is realyl bad as well, a lady I work with has never taken a day off in 15 years. She took the last 5 days off. I haven't gotten a flu shot since I ;eft working in the medical field. I tend to get more sick than anything when I do get it. I do take precauions of taking multi vitamins, washing my hands and so on. I haven't been following the news here, seeing as I dont have a tv, but nothing has been said on the radio.

I was at the hospital here, in mexico a few days ago. I heard some saying the same thing here. One dr. said he had 50% more flu people here this year than he had all last year. SO its seems to be bad all over. Take care there.

Strange to hear that blondie, 18 deaths have occured due to flu. i guess this is not a life-threatening disease as i myself have gone through the flu couple of times this winter. sad to hear that anyway. yeah, sometimes it's become imeprative to take a flu shot so that even if you don't have flu, you can get infected by others who have.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well it is quite shocking to hear about the numbers of deaths cause due to flu and i think people should be alert and aware of how to stay away from getting infected due to flu. i know many people have different thinking about flu shots and if they have inhibitions then they should follow their own precautions and be careful about what they do personally.
What say?
