Does donation help people?

Money donations for charity. So far does it help those people receiving donations? I read somewhere that the more the people had been given donations, the lazier they get because free money is given to them. But sometimes it does help some people like those who developed opensource software for free and those web comic artists who provide free content. But then again these people can use advertising service to make money. For the people who survive a disaster, I suppose donations will help these people to rebuild their homes.

Donations really work and it does really help a lot of people in their living. I have read that , in some places, people take donations and keep it to themselves and do not help others. They just steal money in the name of donations . But then, you are the one responsible for choosing the right place to donate your money. I would donate my money to such places, where-in the money goes to the food for the elderly people who are sent to senior homages by their kids. Or I would adopt a kid virtually and look after that kid's expenses that comes through education. In that way, the kid learns to stand on his own foot and his life will be way better than in orphanages. See, it all depends on how you want to help. Why do you want to donate if you really want to help? Find someone who really needs some help and offer them help in person . In this way, you know that your money hasn't gone waste and you will have full satisfaction and you would have a peace that you have made a difference in someone's life who really wanted someone to help.

I agree friend we should find the right people/place to help and yes why to donate and provide the money and other things to the people who are not worth it ? we can directly help them by finding the right source. I have found one site where we can virtually adopt children and take care of their education till they stand on their legs/ start earning. we can also meet them if we want to know how they are doing in their life. .

exactly,, There are a lot of resources these days to find such people and do not donate until you learn about them completely is what I would suggest. Your help should change a person's life and it shouldn't o in vain. It not only corresponds to cheating on you but it also means that, someone else who could have genuinely used your help is also being cheated upon which is even more terrible because, you help because we can help and we are blessed with enough money and heart to do so. But the person in need, not everyone who is in need gets the help that they require. It means a lot to them.

I think that a lot of people really appreciate the help and try to get on their feet as soon as possible. There are the moochers that just suck up the money and are lazy, but I think that they are mostly grateful.

People do the donation with their open heart thinking that they are helping some needy people as such, but there are people who are just collecting the money on the name of donation and use them some where else.

I'm not sure if the money we donate for charity will actually go to charity 100%. Some institutions use it as front for their own benefit, reduced tax liability. Business owners can especially benefit from this if they give through their businesses. Anyway, Any gift to a charity is better than no gift. Start at a level you're comfortable with now. Increase if, or more likely when, you feel able and willing to. Look at what your generosity does for others, and also observe the good that it does for you.

No generally speaking donations do not help. If you really want to help someone it's better to donate personally to someone or some family. Donate by food, drinks, clothes, things people need and what will help them on the way to build their own life. Since this has to be the goal of donations as well: the possibility to start a new life yourself. If you make people depend on you you create a new problem for them. If you give to beggars without asking something back for it you will teach them it's way easier to beg to get what you want as it is to make a plan for your future and work for it. I doubt donations will help build homes, many people won't get a penny or have to wait for years. Also a lot of money is just income for the "so called" volunteers.

Hi I dont think people are receiving the donations exactly given to them. In between many such people eat away half of the donations . Only a mere amount reach the needy people. I agree to your point people who get free money become lazy and depend exclusively on the donations and free food without working. But if we see overall the donations help to some extent for the needy ones.

I agree, donations are really good to help other people especially who experience great calamity that everything they have just wipe out to help them start over and it also gives them some inspiration that they can start over and there's life ahead and people are willing to give a hand for them. It will give them comfort morally and physically as for my own perspective of helping but I guess it won't be good if it will be taken for granted like they don't do anything and they just sit and wait for others help for them that's the time it will not be good

I think giving the money in the charity is good if it is used in the rehabilitation of the people who has suffered from the natural disasters like earthquake, flooding etc. It is not good to give the money to the beggars because it is not good to promote something which is eating our society and economy. It is good to help someone who met some accident rather than someone begging for money.

It really depends on case to case basis because there are times that donations are really in need by the people affected by certain typhoons or calamities. However, if they keep on being given, it would really make them lazy and will lead them to becoming dependent to the givers. As for my personal suggestion with regards to this matter, livelihood programs would be much better for it will allow them to work for money and no solely rely on other people.

giving donation is good . but giving it to wrong person is just like wasting your money . first we should think before giving donations . its not that all will cheat but some trust are also there who really help poor people,

I don't give a lot of money to charities, instead I do volunteer work. Or I give things to charity, for example, I will donate canned goods to my local food bank. Last Christmas, I bought a gift for a teenage girl who lives in an orphanage. With donating items or gifts, then I know that it is more likely to get to the person who really needs it. When the homeless beg at the traffic lights, I don't give them money, I give them food, usually a granola bar. It gives them something to eat but also, lets them know that someone cares about them. So, hopefully they will start to care about themselves. Too much of the money donated to charities goes to the administration of that charity. I like to know that my money or donation goes directly to those who need it. Yes, there are some people who will take advantage of charity. But there are far more who really do have a need. Many charities do offer a 'hand up' not just hand outs. In other words, providing services and support so that poor people can get out of poverty. I do know of homeless shelters that provide training and support to help families find a home and teach them skills so they don't end up back in the shelters or on the streets. For disasters, people really do need help. So, yes, donations DO help people. And volunteer work also helps people.

There are many purpose of donation. I you think that a software developer has great invention and give it free to many people, why we don't give the developer several bugs to support him in developing the software better. You will give donation to those you think creditworthy. In this case you give donation because you're benefited and you trust the individual will give better contribution for you in the near future because of your support of donation. Instead of helping or support other in developing something, we also donate people because we are pity and we are really sure that those people we donate are really need money to fulfill their needs. Donation is a voluntary gift. If your hearth is say not to donate, why you should donate. Give donation with your sincere.
