notes to myself

I am sorry that I am not good in thinking of a title for my topic. But this topic is like about new years resolution or wishes that I can do or to do to myself. I had been noting this to myself for a long time already and I wish I could achieve some if not all of this. First, I wish my typing will improve. I am just a "point" typer if you know what I mean. Yeah, I know where our fingers should be in the keyboard. There are typing tutors online too that I do study. What stops me from improving my typing what I had heard from my gradeschool piano teacher. She says that I have hard fingers. I guess mentors.teachers should say something good to their students because negative words have effect on a person just like me in this case. I wish to lose weight. I was always told that I was fat but looking at my photos, I think I am just of normal size. That made me think that you should be comfortable to yourselves and don't think much of what others have to tell you. There had been so many ponds that I had gained last holidays that I need to shed off. Most ofmy clothes doesn't fit already! I wish to start exercising not to be thin but to be healthy. Since there is no gym around, I am thinking of brisk walking around our block at night. I wish I could wake up early so that I could I could do it earlier. But I am just a late waker/sleepy type of person. I have to keep in mind too that I have to finish two or three cross stitch project by March as requested by a cousin who will be arriving from another country on March. Another thing is my focus to help my child in preparing to enter college/university this coming school year. Ofcourse I still have a long list that comes with these. What about you? tell me about your New Years resolution or notes to self that you wish to do.

I have some New Years resolutions too and some of the things in that list are similar to yours. My priority is to lose weight. I cannot exercise much because I don`t have much energy due to my chemo. But I do know that I have to eat less. That is more difficult if you lead a sedentary life. I started the Mediterranean diet last week and on March I have an appointment with a doctor who, I hope, will help me. Among my resolutions, you will not believe it, is to have vacations. I can pay for them but I have to find someone to go with me. Up to now, I don`t have that person. I don`t do any kind of needlework now, but I have projects about my garden.

While I was in chemo I lost my hair. It was very uncomfortable because I even lost my eyelashes and my eyes were watery all day. But now everything is better. If you ever come to South America, we could travel together a bit.

I wish I can be your travel companion! If you would like to visit my country, Philippines, me and my family can help you around here. I thought you're out of chemo? I am not so sure but I think you had mentioned that your health is improving? Tell us more about it! I wish I have a garden to attend to. I live in the province but I now stay near the public market. This space is just rented so we don't have much space to plant. But I do have potterd plants that I tend daily. Thanks for your response and Happy Lottings

Good to hear that your hair is growing. I have heard that most people who are under chemo is experiencing hair loss. Again, if I just live nearby your place, I am willing to accompany you. I have lots of vacant time since I do only stay here in our business.

I am not the kind of person that makes a lot of resolutions because I find that New Year's resolutions only last for a week or two and then they are abandoned. However, I do try to make a goal for myself for the new year. This year the goal that I've made for myself is that I want to do everything in my power that I can in order to ensure that our family is in a much better financial situation by the end of this calendar year. In order to do this I'm trying not to spend money and I'm also trying to reduce the amount that we have to pay for bills every month.

Well, being able to be healthy with doing exercise is s good thing. I wish I would do more walking but due to the chronic wound, I am supposed to limit the amount of time I spend standing, walking, etc so sometimes I feel limited. But knowing whatever I can do from time to time, will help for sure.

I wonder what happened why you had a chronic wound? Tell me more about it. I can't understand much medical terms though I took up a medical course in college. I hadn't had a chance to practice it after school that is why.

Start with one goal. Pick a one that you can do and stick to it. Once this becomes a habit move on to another one. You will notice that some come faster than others. The thing you want to do is set a mental habit of forming goals and then completing or disgarding them . If you disgard one just throw it away and give it no more thought. As you are doing things now you have programed yourself for failure. What you need is just one small success and build on it.

I also into cross stitching before but when I started working in the government and being assigned in distant places, I could no longer do any of my hobbies anymore. It's just a good thing that I have my laptop with me all the time. Good luck! I know you can do it.

May I ask what is your work in the government? I used to work in the Provincial Capitol and I think it is nice working in the government. Good to hear that you are into stitching before. It's nice to hear people that have the same interest as mine. May I ask what patterns had you done before? I am just doing the basics. I make patterns with not so many colors. I do have a hard timemaking angels and patterns that have a face. I am having hard time with back stitch too. I love my laptop. Actually, it is just a netbook. I bring it with me anytime I am out of the house. I missed my netbook already. It is not with me now. Thanks for your response and Happy Lottings!

"Hard fingers"? What did she mean by that? Did she mean they were stiff and not very flexible?
• Philippines
14 Jan 13
Yeah, that maybe what what my former piano instructor means. Sorry, sometimes I am not good at explaining what I need to say. She says that in playing piano, my fingers shouldn't be stiff and hard. Maybe it is just me but I really feel that mentors shouldn't be hard. I mean, instead of telling more about your faults and shortcoming, I feel that they should be more complimenting their students.

I have a list as well. On my list I want to get out of debt and make money. This year my biggest goal is to start my own online business late March or early April. I make earrings and bracelets. I also want to learn how to make necklaces and rings. I am also taking courses in sewing so I can sell some of these items as well. This year I am hoping that Randy's health will get better and that I can continue to be a good wife to him. I wish you all the best and keep us posted on your goals so we can all show you our support.

Being out of debt is second to my list. The top is closer relationship to God. I am not a religious type of person but I always pray. But I feel that I need to nourish more my spiritual side. Wow! That's nice. I used to make beaded jewelries too but I had stopped because I can't buy much materials. I wish to try sewing on a sewing machine. I am thinking of sewing pillow covers, bed covers and sleep wears. But that is far from now because I don't have extra money to buy a machine for now. I wish the best for your husbands health. Can you tell what it is all about? I wish you the best in all your endeavours too. Happy Lottings and thanks for your response.

Every person hopes to improve himself every start of the new year. And although I do have several things in mind to make some improvements in my life, I feel that it is gonna be tough making them all happened. But I would really want to lose some pounds. I am not getting any younger and I don't wanna get old looking lumpy! Also, I am hoping to have a very stable business so that I won't be getting worried about where to get the money to buy things needed by my kids. Although there could be help from family, I'd still rather make use something that I have earned myself.

It is good to hear that you have a family to help you. My family doesn't help and I am sad in this part of my life. Anyway, are you also into business? I have a small business here at home too and am wishing that it will be stable too for the kids. Happly Lottings and thanks for your response.

Well as for typing I am content with being a point typer. I actually do better this way then actual typing. And for losing weight, well, I am with you on this one. I gained weight after my marriage broke up. I was thin prior. But I need to do it for health reasons also. I have a few things to do for myself this year. I figure I will take one day at a time and do one thing at a time.

I am sorry if I took long in answering your response. My myLot email notifications are off again which I didn't intend to. I like it that most of my mylot notifications are turned on so that I could keep tracks of my responses and comments here in myLOt. Anyway, I just thought I need to improve typing but I am more comfortable with point typing as I had tried the normal way of typing. I like the thing that you had said that we do things one at a time. Thanks for your response and Happy Lottings!

With New Year's resolutions, I find it is best to make daily goals that I can really stick with. I am committed to exercising at least 1/2 hour a day. I would like to exercise one hour a day but my minimum is 1/2 hour. That is something I can fit into my schedule and lifestyle. I also eat healthier, so instead of a diet, I just eat healthier. So, I can manage eating healthier, instead of being stressed over a diet. So, take it step by step with New Year's resolutions and goals. I lost weight without being on a strict diet, just by exercising every day or almost every day and eating healthier. If you have too long a list, it can get overwhelming and then you feel you haven't accomplished what you wanted to do and feel bad about yourself. Prioritize what is the most important and stay focused on those goals, and fit it the rest when you can.
