Sometimes, we find ourselves in a very difficult situation when an unknown person starts fighting with us and it becomes very difficult to come over the fight. What we can do in such a situation?

Diplomatic way is the best in my opinion. Bring the pride down and talk it out. We see a lot of problems not being resolved because neither of the parties involved want to humble themselves.

For me the simplest way to end up a fight is simply to shut my mouth and let the other part think that he/she is the winner. Or better avoid getting into meaningless arguments by simply walking away once you sense that things are going to get a bit tensed.

If unknown person start fighting with you maybe it could have some reason why he fighting with you. Maybe you do something wrong make him angry. It is imposibble someone start fighting without any reason. Only crazies fighting without any reason. Ask him what make he feel angry. If it dont have any reason just ignore him. If he still chase you just report about this guy to the police.

Unknown person meaning he doesn't know you or you doesn't know him. If an unknown person fights with you, just ignore him. He doesn't know you and there is no point in defending yourselves. However, if it leads in ruining your reputation or below the belt you should confront him. This person might have nothing to do good in his life. Don't mind him anyway.

When an unknown person starts fighting with you? Like physically fighting? Or just threatening you?
Just walk away. Call the police. Tell others that you would like that person to back off. Walk away. Tell that person you are going to call the police. Back off.
