E-books are so in nowadays and it seems like most of the readers prefer to read their favorite novels, stories and other sources of information online than to read books on libraries. I am a bookworm and I collect books, if I have money, i buy books first before clothes or snacks. I'm afraid traditional books disappear in the near future because of E-books and for me, printed materials are better than e-books. how about you, which do you prefer?

I like real books the feel of the pages, the dog ears, but I am sure if I had a ereader I would enjoy that too, we just haven't made the jump yet. Until they I will continue to plug along at my shelf full of books.

Yeah ebboks are cost effective and they are compact.
I prefer printed books like u,they dont harm our eyes as the computer or tablet screen does.In the long run unlike ebooks printed books cause less damage to ur eyes plus i love the smell of books,it kinda makes me feel attached to them :)

I'm at the point where I just buy e-books now. Last year I finally decided to get an Amazon Kindle to try it out. It saves a lot of space as I have a old books stashed away in boxes now. Plus I love being able to get free books on Amazon for my Kindle, some which have been pretty good reads and has allowed me to discover books and writers I probably never would have before.

Cool, we are very much alike. I like to collect books too. I will consider buying books before clothes, and I also prefer printed material over ebooks. I like to mark up my books with notes and I like flipping the pages. Ebooks have their benefits, but I am more comfortable with traditional prints. However, there are less and less bookstores nowadays near where I live.

I actually love e-books. I can download them and then archive them when done. They don't collect dust or take up room in my house. Owning a ton of books isn't the status symbol it once was.
I have a huge library at home and am donating most of it to the library at the hospital. I don't want them anymore. I need to get rid of all the dust collectors in my house. Besides I will not read the same book again, so why keep it. I loan them out to friends and half don't come back. I give them away to visiting friends and still have way to many.

Oh, I'm a book person. For me, there's nothing better than burying my nose in a wonderful book. I love the smell of books too. Weird, I know. Also, I don't like having to look at a computer screen for a long time. I prefer good old fashioned print on paper.

Give me a book and I am very happy. There is something about it, that gives me peace. I do not have a nook or ipad or any electronic reading devises. I like it old school when reading. I am also like you when it comes to collecting book. There is this great used book store near where I live where you bring books in, you get credit for those books, and basically trade them for books you want. You just keep doing this and don't pay a dime. It's great! Happy Reading!!!

Hiya valorie,
E-books can be of great value because some of the books that you might want to read might be out of print or out of your reach altogether.
Amazon and Barnes and Noble have great paperbacks but like you have mentioned they will not last forever I prefer to read a nice book all curled up too as I can pay more attention to it.
Otherwise you will have to print out the E-book and that is quite a few pages as well.
Hope they improve the formats for printing so that we can print our favourite books out.

I am a book lover as well. I love paper books as well as collecting paper articles.I don't really like to read ebook as it makes me to stand and read it for a long hours in front of the monitor. While the feeling is different with books. I love to read and I still prefer to read in traditional way.(^^)

I'm with you. At least with books whose purpose it is to 'transport me away from this world.' Ebooks are fine for 'instructions on actually living'; I move (if this is a super-de-duper online wisdom-council by now) that we ban electronic Bibles!

E-books are fine for on the go but I personally would prefer to curl up to a book of my choice given that I have time. I used to read up to 4 books in a week; 300+ pages.

There will always be a place for real books. There is something special about holding a real book in my hands and flipping through the pages. I can go back and forth and I get a real sense of the story by holding the book in my hands.
Although e-books are so convenient and so handy. I will admit, now that I have downsized, I prefer the convenience and space saving of e-books.
There will probably be a place for both.

Although i'm not a strong supporter of e-books and i don't really like to read e-books, but i usually think that e-books have made a real difference in our lives. unquestionably, e-books are the cause of closing down of many businesses. in United States, for instance, more than 70% of publishers have closed down their businesses due to the introduction of e-books. people are now more concerned about getting e-books. there are so many reasons for buying e-books. one can easily access these books at home, relatively cheaper or sometimes even free, no space required and etcetera. apart from all these pros, i am still not convinced and i do like to read those traditional books since i don't want to stick with my laptop all the time just for the sake of reading, despite the fact that i do read few e-books.

I prefer printed books. I realize that e-books are the "in" thing right now, but I don't really want to switch to reading them. My friend has one of those kindle things and it hurts the eyes more than reading a regular book. I like to curl up and spend maybe an hour reading or so when my children are at school and these e-books while I understand the convenience of them can only be damaging to the eyes. I am unfortunately going to have to get one of these things as one of the book series I loved when I was younger is near impossible to find.

Just like you I too have been a book lover since my childhood when I was in class 2 or 3.Now I have a home library of my own and the number of books in it has been continuously increasing.I don't think the traditional, printed books will everbe replaced by ebooks.Having a printed book is a pleasure in itself and only book lovers like you and me can realize it.I know a lot of bookworms even in my hometown who are tech savvy, but they prefer to buy printed books.

I was once like you, I buy paperbacks especially those of my favorite authors, by then I allot an amount for such hobby but lately I got limited time so I opt to the easier way of finding reading materials and that being the e-books. It's easier to search and download according to your preferred author and you can read using ipad and tablet so it's more convenient for me I don't have to keep the lamp open while reading before I call it a night.

Honestly I do both.I like buying printed books and at the same time,it is convenient and quick to get and use the e-books.I would like to combine these two ways to meet my different needs. No matter reading a digitized book or a printed book,we all benefit a lot.
Have a nice day.

I read E-books frequently. I prefer to read E-books because it gives you idea about what to get in the book in a precise manner. Another great thing about E-book is that I can save it and it is available anywhere anytime in my laptop or desktop. So
they are convenient to use.
