I work a half an hour more yesterday

I got called and asked to work until the store closes last night and I agreed to. It made it where I had an extra thirty minutes of work. Now I wanted to do this for the money but wasn't looking forward to how busy it would be. Usually it is very very busy on Saturday's where I work, even as late as 10:30 at night. Now this isn't the first time I've worked until close on a Saturday. There's been two or three times that I'd done it in the past, and out of those two to three times, only once was it ever very busy for me. It wasn't busy last night. I was happy about that. It's odd though as I know it's busy Saturday nights because even if I don't stay until close it's always very busy about the time I leave. Weird. Is it me?

That's good for you. I'm happy for your happiness. To work less and earn more, isn't it a happy thing? wish you have more like that

It's good that you had that bit of extra time at work. I really don't know what the stores are like around here on a Saturday night. I'm never out shopping late on a Saturday night, and I don't work in retail.

It can be busy around here. Saturday my store gets busy, then starts calming down, then it's busy again. The spurt usually happens around 10:30 when all the other workers are going home. I am glad it wasn't busy because I was originally scheduled as the relief for the night time cashier, but I was the night time cashier and thus had no relief.

I wonder if there was something on television that made it quieter, I certainly know this from the gym, if there is a big football match on, the gym is empty! And you can even go round the shops on a Saturday and it's quiet, you know there is some sort of sport event on. Sometimes there is no explanation of why a particular Saturday is quiet, maybe it's the beginning of the year and people are watching their budgets after spending out for Christmas and the New Year. Glad you had a stress-free shift including the extra 30 mins!

No, not weird. Sort of a Murphy's Law thing. When you are waiting for somethin it never happened. A watch pot never boils. I am glad i wasn't too busy although I always liked it when it was busy because my time went faster. I worked in a call center before I retired and it was usually busy. At one time there was about 500 in the queque. Under staffed and over worked. Manditory overtime too!

Well, too good for you that you are just extending for half an hour. I myself extend 3 hours everyday in order to output all of our workloads here in our company. I am too exhausted. But the need to output things means that the company needs manpower and resources for it to continue functioning. So sad that we are not hiring additional employees to do it. For now, we have to undergo overtime in order to supplement manpower needs.

It's good you are getting the extra hours, I can;t wait for my seasonl job to be in again. I know you want the hours, how many hours are you working now?. I wouldn't of guessed that late being so busy. Maybe, it's just where I live come 9pm, noone is to be seen.
