Which Would You Rather Have?

What would you rather have someone that lives with you that will take over the TV for several hours on the weekends or borrow your car on one of the afternoons most every week on the weekend? My brother has both of these habits now, however if he has borrowed the car then the TV is free which he has been doing on Sundays now. So I guess one positive thing is that he is out of my face too for a few hours at least. I wonder why he has to take my dad's car though cause he has his own. He did ask if anyone needed anything at least too before he left. It makes me wonder what he's doing with the car too, though.

I'll be simple on this one. I'd rather have the TV free, honestly, and prefer someone to take the car and take off. This will give me more time with myself and at least an hour to rest and watch some TV.
About your brother taking your dad's car, I don't know, maybe your dad's car is better, newer and makes a great impression on someone special?

First of all I would not lend my car out to anyone. Anything can happen with someone else driving and I'm sure you don't have him down on your insurance, since he has his own car. I don't understand why he's not driving his own car unless he has no money for gas and your car has gas. The bottom line I guess is he could definitely have control of the TV for a few hours and that wouldn't bother me because I don't usually watch TV during the day.

I'd definitely rather have someone take over the T.V. Then again, I don't ever watch it. I don't have cable or anything. If I want to watch a show or a movie, I go on my laptop.
I hate having people borrow my car because I feel paranoid that they will smoke in it, get into an accident, or break something. Even just having people in my car while I'm there can be annoying to me. I was hanging out with a friend not too long ago and my knob to change the ac/heater temperature is missing. My friend took the knob off that goes to the place where you switch which vents blow and tried to put it on the other part and now it won't stay on where it's supposed to go. That didn't even do anything, by-the-way. It didn't work on there and you can just grab the thing anyway and change it without a knob. I don't like it when people try to take control of your stuff.
That is weird that he'd prefer to take someone else's car than his own. People are usually more comfortable in their own car unless someone has a really expensive, cool car. Maybe he doesn't get good gas mileage? I don't know. Does sound strange. Lol.

Hiya NT.,
Actually neither to tell the truth. Depends who lives with me and if its any of mine for a start off they leave my car with no petrol or water all the time.
I would suggest for them to get a Television of their own although I know that they might still watch the main one.
When we lived with other people we respected their ways of being and of course we never used their car either.
I would not mind them watching a certain amount of television but not for them to borrow everything.
Not easy to live with other people like that.xxx

Neither! I am kinda particular with my car because it's a gift and it's new. But if I trust and like the person borrowing it, why not? So far the only people that I let drive and borrow it are my parents in law and my husband (the one ho gifted it to me, lol!)
As for the TV, I am not really very particular about it but I am wary of the electricity bill.

The electric bill must be high due to the TV being on so much and usually with either my mom or brother. Then if I wanna use it to watch some music (and listen) they are like Oh no you can't have that on cause WE don't want to watch it. I'm like, well I have to have some of my shows on too. I always have to watch something they wanna watch along with me or it's nothing with them. Or they complain bigtime. I don't complain to them that they have the TV like 6 hours (or more!) per day. Go figure! They watch things constantly on there that I don't want to watch. They are sooo TV selfish. Such a stupid thing to have an obsession about, wish they would go do something else more constructive.
I don't like my brother using the car for the fact he might get into an accident and then my parents won't have a car. He has no extra money so he wouldn't replace it if it got totalled-- I would if anyone !

Well, if i'm doing stuff then I wouldn't mind if they were watching TV or borrowing my car, but if I want to do something the car better be there and if I want to watch TV, I get to watch it. If it's my house I would get to do what I want, if they expect to stay there.

I know but they act like he owns the house and he does not. He acts like he owns the house. I always feel like the outsider and it bothers me. They are always in control of everything here and moan and groan if I want things changed just alittle to suit 'me' for once. Then they wonder why I don't like to talk to them.

well is your dads car maybe nicer then his.. its good that he does put gas back in
lately i have had kind the same thing go on here with my daughter only we have only one car and its the computer instead of the tv .. she takes my car on weekends
and some afternoons when im not doing something and need it..
and i kind of enjoy the time alone.. since im single i dont go out alot on weekends now and would rather have my time at home on the computer...
if she is here she wants the computer and we have to share.. so as long as she is careful and respectful i dont a problem with her using my car..
i do hate sharing the computer though lol guess im a computer hog lol

I don't have a car & don't want one, so someone can probably borrow THAT no problem!

well it depends on what i like to do at that moment. If i need to go out then i dont have any problem with him watching TV .But if i want to watch TV and he too then its a problem. Usually this problem arises when any guests arrive and they watch the TV .I dont have any problem in watching Tv with brothers as we have the same taste and we all watch the same programs.
